so im thinking of a single or double halo ring custom made. hopefully the halos are delicate (about 1-1.2mm each row
), but still want to keep the budget reasonable. is it possible to get a cast/CAD this delicate? is there any jeweler/setter PSers would recommend for this task? all suggestions appreciated! oh btw, my stone is yellow diamond, so I wonder if there is any special technique for setting colored stone and do I have to go to some specific jewelers?

Brilliantly Engaged's CAD/cast comes very close to looking handforged. There might be other vendors but BE is the only one I have personal experience with. An FCD is still a diamond so it doesn't require any special or extra care.

We get this question frequently.
There's aspects of a hand forged ring that are impossible to replicate in a cast- the most noticeable of these is the "claw prongs".
Another is how round wire parts- like halo supports- are fully polished on a hand forged ring- because they are made from wires.
On a cast ring, inside curves can never be fully polished.
Having said that- these details are very subtle, and many observers will not be able to see them

I wouldn't rule out James Allen. That is where I purchased my halo reset and I've been very pleased with the craftsmanship of the ring. (So was my independent appraiser.)

There's no doubt that hand-forged rings are usually beautiful & delicate. However, some jewelers can offer cast/CAD halos that are still very delicate & lovely. I have a round halo from BE (formerly ERD) and it's extremely delicate.
