I''m scanning the history pages to figure out what the exact difference between the elara and the flanders diamonds are. Some people also state that there is a "super-ideal" version of the flanders that shows the hearts, much like the HOF Dream cut. What is the truth here?

As always, your help is much appreciated.

I have contacted an Elara salesperson for stones within our search parameters and three weeks later I have not heard a word... If you find out, let me know. They seem quite hush hush.

Just as tough yto find, but equally as branded and wel cut are teh Gabi stones. Have you hear of the Gabrielle diamond in square shape called Carre? Designed by Gabriel Tolkowski...sound familiar?

I've heard of it but haven't seen a picture of one yet... Thanks for the tip! I'm looking near and far for a perfect diamond

Who knew it would be such an ordeal?! Definitely let me know if you hear back from elara!

Squares,

We searched for 2 months in an insane search that included at least 5-6 hours of daily searching online and in person. No kidding! In that time, we settled on a stone with wonderful proportions and color and clarity. We got a Henry Grossbard Radiant from the Radiant Cut. Try them as well.

Square stones are NOT easy! But if you think that's what you want, I say nothing else will do, so keep searching. Elara's are great, as the Carre may be too, and considering the pain of fancy shapes I would go to sources of original cut to get a great diamond. I just think the price you pay for what you want will be a bit of a tough pill to swallow....

the other super ideal squarish stones with hearts and arrows are the Regent and Queen of Hearts.

The story is on the PS front page

I've seen those online... I could have sworn someone mentioned specifically a "super-ideal flanders" that has the hearts... I'll have to go back and see if I mis-read it.

As for the radiant cuts - I've heard they weren't cheap! That was what initially got me started looking at the various square cuts - I'm just concerned that it is too difficult to find a great one (especially without paying a fortune).

My next question on the flanders/elara - can this be mounted with the prongs on the edges? I saw a piece on one of the threads where the prongs appeared to be attached to the main sides... I'm a little more conservative than doing it that way and I want to make sure it still looks more square like than maybe like a cross.

Thanks again!

Have you seen a step emerald cut?

The Regent has Hearts and Arrows in a squared off but somewhat rounded stone.

The Queen of Hearts has Hearts in a slightly more squared off shape.
