I''m looking for a bistro table (iron or other material) for our back deck -- smallish table (20-30 inch diameter) with two chairs, possibly folding. I want to spend $150 to $300 for a comfortable and sturdy set that we could eat breakfast or dinner on occasionally, but that won''t overwhelm our deck the rest of the time (it''s maybe 7'' by 20''? and has a grill and some chairs on it already). I''ve checked Bed Bath & Beyond, Target, Overstock, and Crate and Barrel (too pricey), but I couldn''t make heads or tails of all the options. Any recommendations?

Do you by chance have a Sams Club? If not you may check your local warehouse club. We got a great set a few years ago, and regret not getting multiple ones to flank our pool. We just bought over 12 chairs and 4 tables...at 75% at Lowes. Not my style...but for the price couldn''t pass it up. You might check there and ofcourse the other hardware stores. Do you have a Garden Ridge? They had a lot this year, too.

In my area it is a great time to shop for such things as they are clearancing them to make room for the plastic reindeer. Do you have a Tuesday Morning? (not the day, but the discount store...) they had some really great ones this year.

Have you tried Pier One? They no longer have an online store, but if you''re close to a store pop in there and see what they have. They''re great for things like that, and you could probably find something to fit your budget. Otherwise, maybe one of the big box hardware stores like Home Depot or Menards would have something to fit your needs.

Our really cute patio set is from Pier One. It is a decent sized round table and 4 chairs...Definitely check them out..Probably can get a set for a great price at this point!

smith and hawken. the parisian park chairs fold for easy storage. i own a couple of these in the oak and black.

I third the Pier1 recommend...we got our patio set from them about 6 years ago for $300 total for table and 4 chairs and umbrella and it still looks very good. It's super dark wood that is kind of glazed shiny and the legs on the chairs and table are black metal and it has held up really well, it's always outside, we never bring it in and we use it all year long. We have replaced the umbrella a few times due to wind/tears etc. Also I think Target has good options as well for the pricing. I like the idea of PB, CB and Smith Hawken kind of places but the prices always turn me off, for outdoor furniture I don't want anything that I have to really worry about and I would at those prices!!

Try Fortunoffs. We bought our set from them for about $1000. It was twelve pieces though. I am sure you can find a nice three piece bistro there for a good price.

We actually got ours at Sears. It's a black wraught iron one, and its super cute, came with cute cushions too. We don't get much sun in our backyard, so we opted to not purchase an umbrella. I think we got ours towards the end of May or June, not sure if they carry them now though.

Rosebud, Sears is a great suggestion as well. Our patio set is from there also, they have great customer service...when we first got it a few years ago a bad storm rolled through unexpectedly and snapped the umbrella right where it came through the center of the table. Sears replaced it for free even though the damage was caused by an "act of God." I don''t think it even came with a warranty or anything, they just happened to be very understanding and nice about it.
