Can anyone convince me not to get this 2.4 carat round diamond?

Was quoted around $24k for this diamond. (GIA certificate attached)

Don't have additional images yet, can request it but was told it was eye clean.

I know the measurements are not up to par with the recommended ranges, but was still leaning towards the rock as the size and color + cut are what I want.

Please convince me not to get this diamond! Thank you experts.

IMO, the bottom half is too deep.

No, I would keep looking. Numbers are not the best.

I can't open it without downloading to my computer. Can you please just post the link to the report on the GIA site so we can just look at it from the link?

The pav angle of 41.6 is WAY too deep! It might be be a 2.42, but at 8.52 - 8.58mm, it faces up more like a 2.3 due to its overall depth. Below is an example of a well cut 2.42.

This.

You can do far better Mays, this is the classic steep deep combo and along with the other proportions which don't help, it's going to leak light like a sieve and look small for the weight.

The WF stone CB posted is superb and would be an excellent choice if eyeclean to your specs.

I agree, this stone is way outside of the parameters we'd recommend. As others have said, you'd be better off with a 2.3 ct well cut stone.

Oh my God! Please please dont get this diamond. You just wasting your time and money...:naughty:

Really steep/deep and the inclusion plot would indicate it is NOT eye clean. Hard pass.

I wouldn't buy it, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

However, you can't "do better for the price" because the price is too good to be true - you aren't going to get a well-cut eyeclean 2.4ct+ G for 24k without a miracle... this stone is not a product of that miracle.
