Can a squarish cushion be set in a princess setting?

Can a squarish cushion be set in a princess setting (v-prongs)? My jeweler says this can be done. I''m not so sure. What do you think?

With v-prongs? I am doubtful as I''m not sure how the rounded corner will sit well in a pointy V end.

I don''t doubt that it can be done. But I''m not so sure of the long term success of a setting like that...just seems like it wouldn''t fit properly.

This is the local jeweler I use sometimes (as opposed to the more expensive one, further away, who does the more serious work for me). The local one has seemed to do well with things a bit unorthodox such as this.
