can a jeweler re-size a platinum mounting head?

Hello,
I am upgrading from a 1.81 to a 2.52 round and already own a platinum setting I like a lot. Is it possible and cost effective to have the jeweler just re-build the head to accommodate the new stone size?

Depends on the setting. Post pics from top and profile.
Also what is the metal.

I don't currently have the mounting in my possession as I'm trying to consign it but have a feeling it will probably not be sold. I do have a photo from the top of it (which might not be very useful).
