I saw you posted about having VC make you earrings in my ering reset thread. I also contacted him about a similar project and was turned down so I'm pretty sure I will have SK do the work. I haven't requested a quote from anyone else yet, besides SK, and I really like the design of the earrings below that he made. I plan on using a pair of OMC's that I just bought for the top diamond portion and some CS's for the bottom. Havn't found anything that I loved yet though.

What are you earring plan? I would love to hear about them and perhaps we can bounce some ideas off each other?

Hi Sarah,

I had posted a thread asking for opinions about various designs. My goal (other than a gorgeous pair of oec earrings) was to camoflague my lopsided holes. I think we have managed to accomplish that (my earrings should be ready in a couple of weeks). Here's a photo of the design they were based off of. I know that the fact that they may spin will drive some folks nuts, but I figure I won't see it unless I look in the mirror. Just kidding. I actually had them measure the depth of my lobe so that they knew where to put the grooves to "catch" the oversized back. Hopefully, that will keep the earrings from drooping AND keep it from spinning. I guess I'll know soon enough. What plans do you have??? Are the top portion going to be removable so that you can dress the earrings up or down? I love the photo you posted, but it seems very dressy for everyday (to me).

I'm not totally 100% sure yet as I really love the starburst motif but I'm leaning towards a yes.


Yenny- Yes what i'm envisioning is a detachable pair similar to CCN awsome aqua set. I want the OMC's to be able to wear as stand alone studs, studs with jackets and then the option of a dangle earring (seen here with yellow diamonds) with colored stones. I just bought a pair of blue/green tourmalines from Art Cut Gems (Rick was awsome) that I think might work but they are way smaller then when I wanted to use. They are 1.72ctw and what I'm really looking for is something more substantional like 3-5ctw.

I love the motif you have picked out and I agree with you that the spining wouldn't bother me. They look very classic. Who are you using to have them made again?

Wow Sarah, those are going to be stunners!! Can't wait to see them. I'm using my local jeweler, as he's promised that if I don't love the earrings, he'll remove my oec's and make the rest of the earring into jackets and sell them in his store. So, for me, it's a win/win.
