Hi guys

I was wondering is there a visible difference between Si to VS's in melee between 10pt to 15pt


Also does the cut really matter in that size

Case by case, as most melees are in-house graded, can be called anything, SI of one house can be better than VS of another house. Reliable vendors should at least be eye-clean in the SI range.

Thank's Stone cold - by cut I mean H & A's melee or Premium as some vendors offer......

So, one Vendor's VSI's could be another's SI's. Is that what you mean..........

no, but there might be a mind-clean difference. If we're comparing apples to apples (that is, well cut, clear "generic" melee to branded H&A melee, some less-reputable vendors use VS/SI as monikers for decent and dreadful, which goes back to SC's point about the vendor.

So if I was to purchase melee from any of the ps reputable vendors I would be pretty safe? I have had 3 quotes for a custom piece to be made and one vendor has come in at around 1k less then the other two, but the issue I have is all 3 of these vendors are highly regardard on ps.

Makes one wonder how there can be such a large discrepancy in pricing All 3 are quality jewellers. Maybe it's just a matter of supply and demand, I can only assume 2 of them have a much smaller turnover. Who knows, in the end you pay for what get I suppose.

I am not concerned about them being certified at that size, so maybe that is were the difference is

If it's from a trusted vendor, especially a PS vendor, I'd be fine with SI melee.
