Hey MonkeyPants- hopefully you see this thread. I saw a comment you made about your ring in a thread where someone was searching for octagonal halos about how you were disappointed with the craftsmanship of your ring and had to send it back multiple times. Although you didn''t list the vendor I''m 99% sure I''m looking at the same vendor (and have even considered that setting) at the moment (I saw your vendor picture of your ring and thought- oh that looks REALLY familiar haha).

Can you elaborate on what you were unsatisfied with? I love the setting you choose, but SO tends to like simpler rings so I think we''d probably go with the pave tapered trellis or something along those lines. I''m really attracted to their adherence to ethical and environmentally friendly practices but if their settings are not of high quality I might look into getting a setting of recycled gold from another vendor. Any tips or comments from your experience would be appreciated. Thanks!

I too was interested in her setting (it''s gorgeous!) and looked through her old posts. I believe the vendor is Brilliant Earth, she said she visited them to try it on. I think she sent it back twice for repair (milgrain was uneven and some other issue I can''t recall). I hope this helps! I looked through them a few weeks ago so my memory is fading about the details.

Ok I found another one, prong set. I know you are looking for a vendor that uses recycled gold though, but maybe you can use these images if you do custom... hope I'm not being annoying

Ooo thanks so much shimmer! You''re being very helpful, not annoying at all. Thanks for finding those threads that was exactly what I was looking for. All I had seen was a brief mention she made to having to send her ring back.

I do want a setting with recycled gold so it''s frustrating to hear all the hardship she went through with that vendor. I don''t think we''d have enough money in our budget to go custom so I was really hoping to find a stock setting I loved made from recycled gold. The search continues.


I love Beverly K too. Those settings as well as all the other ones they make. If only they would come out with a recycled gold line.... haha
