I saw in a thread from a few months ago that you''ve both ordered mattresses from Essentia, and I was wondering what you think of it (lulu) and if you still love it (Jas). I''ve FINALLY convinced DH to get a new mattress and I definitely want something green/natural/organic but I''m still having a hard time swallowing the price tag. We''re lucky that the one US-based showroom that the Essentia website lists isn''t too far from us, so we will take a trip up there sometime soon to check them out (nice not to have to buy sight-unseen). But I always like to get further reviews from people who already own stuff like this. Thanks!

I think that we''ve been sleeping on our mattress for about a month and I have to say that we both absolutely love it

. I was a bit nervous right after it was delivered. It seemed so compressed and hard, but it quickly returned to its normal firmness shortly after being unpacked. I believe the website says that there is about a 2 week adjustment period for people who previously used a spring mattress, but in our experience we were loving it after only a couple of nights.

I would absolutely recommend the mattress for both its green features and for a delightful sleep.

I believe that we chose the 8 inch version.

Yes, lulu it is weird when it''s delivered!!! It''s compressed and then *poof* turns into your mattress

We actually love it more now. I am 28 weeks pregnant and so i am not sleeping the best to begin with, but whereas last pregnancy i would wake up each morning feeling sore, this pregnancy i go to bed sore and wake up feeling really good. I can''t wait to sleep on that mattress without a belly!!!
My DH said he''s rarely ever sore when he wakes up any more. He really loves it.

So yes, totally recommend. You can try it out for a while and if you don''t like it you can return it. I think that helped me take the plunge and pay that price, but no regrets here obviously. I only wish i could have afforded a king size!!!

Thanks so much to both of you! The 8" Essentia is our frontrunner right now, but mattress shopping can be so confusing. And I just read about the Simmons Natural Care mattresses, which are significantly cheaper and sound pretty similar...it's supposed to be eco-friendly but I'm not sure exactly how green it is so I'm going to do a little more searching. But they're available much closer to me, so we will probably check those out first and then go up to the Essentia showroom when we have a chance. I'm so excited...we NEED a new mattress, I had to show DH the dips in ours before he believed that I wasn't sleeping well, but now he's all for it so I need to move quickly before he changes his mind.
