calling for 0.9 -1 ct solasfera

Does anyone have a 0.9 - 1 ct solasfera? If you have, can you post pictures? I am trying to decide for myself whether the smaller (relatively speaking) solasfera would be too busy.

I will preface this with saying I have never seen a solasfera in person, so I am speaking solely based on my experience with other cuts with more than 58 facets (such as the Gabrielle Tolkowsky cut, etc) - IMO the extra facets look best in larger stones (over at least 2 carats), but IMO look way too busy and chaotic in slightly smaller sizes. Maybe some others have pics to help you decide

I bought a .71 F SI1 Solasfera from GOG a few weeks ago. I had it set locally with a couple of H&A Ideal cut 1/4''s. As a whole, the ring is a ball of fire in direct sunlight. However, by itself, I wouldn''t say that it is overly busy. Had I gone with Solasfera sides, then I am thinking it would have been overkill, an idea that was parroted by the local jeweler.
I have a video of it that Jonathan made comparing it to a typical RB as well as side by side with a 1 carat H&A round. If you can figure out a way of sending it to you, I''d be more than happy to share that video as it may help you out quite a bit with your question.

Haywood74, thanks a bunch. Yes, I think I made up my mind finally. I love the solasfera. Although I would still appreciate a good quality video from you. How big is the original video? I will talk to Jonathan tomorrow re. couple of the solasfera they have. Big difference in price tags. We don''t want to stretch our budget too much.

I would have Jonathan check what other Solasfera''s he could get. Mine wasn''t in house when I first inquired. I gave them a ballpark size I was interested in and was e-mailed a list of 4 or 5 stones to choose from in about 3 or 4 hours. Just wanted to make sure you were aware that they have access to more than just is listed on their website at any given time. Going this route, I saved a BUNCH by going down in clarity to the stone that I ended up purchasing versus a similar stone already on the website. Be advised though, it took them a little while to get all of the customary GOG specs up on their website. Well worth the wait.

As far as video goes, ask Jonathan for a video lineup to choose from. He had no trouble whipping up the one that I posted elsewhere (sorry, didn''t know YouTube links were not allowed!).

If you do end up buying one of them from GOG, be prepared to put on a welding helmet the first time you try to look at it in direct sunlight
