Calling Cakeny?? or other Hank Lane brides...

Hi Cakeny!
I''m a NYC bride and have booked a Hank Lane band for my wedding next summer. I''ve been kind of nervous since putting the deposit down on them. I put in a search on PS for Hank Lane and saw that you used them. In the post I saw you didn''t seem pleased and thought they were kinda shady. Just wondered if you could share the rest of your experience with them. I''ve heard such mixed reviews and would love an honest opinion!!

Hi marlie!

I just used Hank Lane for my wedding this weekend. They were really, really good and worth the money. DH and I used their services for a guitarist fo the ceremony and cocktail, and DJ and live band for the reception. I highly recommend them! Hope that helps!

I''m also using a guitarist for ceremony/cocktail and a band (the Ernest Mills band) for the reception. I just keep coming across bad reviews about Hank Lane''s business practices and it''s getting me nervous. Hearing that you liked them though does put my mind at ease a bit. I just want to make sure that they sound good and keep people on the dance floor all night!

Thanks marlie! Yes, the guitarist was excellent. And for the reception, we actually used the Downtown Express band, but I''m pretty sure all they''re bands are great. Them as well as the DJ were good at feeling out the crowd and playing the right music, lossely based off of our own selections, keeping people dancing. We even had a bridal party dance off!
