Very cute Haven! How are you liking the Kindle so far?
I''m still addicted. Been reading and reading and reading. Finished Pillars of the Earth and now reading a couple of bits of trash before I get into World Without End.
So you read books on your iPhone? Interesting! Is the screen very small?Date: 4/28/2010 4:47:24 PM

ooooh I LOVE it! That makes me want a Kindle more than the actual Kindle itself!
I have the Kindle app on my iPhone and I have read no less than 7 books on it. I really did not have high hopes for it, but it is surprisingly easy to read and so handy to have a book with you all the time.
I''m glad you like it! Pride and Prejudice was the first book I downloaded to my Kindle...love Austen.Date: 4/28/2010 5:53:02 PM

I haven''t bought any books yet because I''m still addicted to my library and I''ve yet to want a book that my library does not have. HOWEVER, I have downloaded a ton of free classics and reread some of my very favorite books of all time. It was especially fun to read The Velveteen Rabbit one afternoon over lunch.
I''m so glad I bought it.
Hehe, it''s great to have the familiar favourites on hand when you find yourself with a few minutes to kill!Date: 4/28/2010 5:54:02 PM

I like the Kindle for exactly the reason you stated--it is so convenient. I love that Jane Austen is always right there with me, wherever I go.![]()
Wow thank you so much Haven! That really made my dayDate: 4/29/2010 11:36:27 AM

Me too fiery!
I''m so glad you responded, because I''ve been wanting to tell you FOREVER that your daughter is, literally, the most gorgeous child I have ever seen in my life. I peruse the newborn thread every once in a while to keep up with who has a new baby and my jaw dropped the moment I saw her picture. She''s unbelievably beautiful. And she looks like a little ball of love, too.
Amazingly long-lasting. I read a lot (2-3 books a week) and mine will last at least week as long as the wireless is turned off. I rarely have to charge it. You only need the wireless to download books and documents or shop in the Kindle Store.Date: 4/29/2010 7:36:16 PM

Slightly OT, but how''s the battery on the Kindle?
I did an actual "study" on the battery life for TanDogMom on her nook thread. It does about 25 hours of active reading before it needs a charge, with the wireless turned off. I can read about 4-5 hours per NIGHT and not need to charge it for a week. When my ILs were here, it was on sleep (with the screen art on) and I didn''t look at it for 3 weeks. The battery position was still pretty much in the same place, so the ink takes very little, if any battery life. I think it''s the active page turning that drains it, so if you read fast, you''ll drain it faster than someone who reads more slowly.Date: 4/29/2010 7:36:16 PM

Haven, I procrastinate on a lot of stuff, but a super cute Kindle cover is not one of those things!
I just ordered the Camden Fair cover. So cute! I will post pics when I get it!!
Haha! Porridge--This was pretty much my same line of thinking. I usually have about 25 library items checked out, and I don''t purchase many books at all, so DH couldn''t figure out why I wanted the Kindle. But I WANTED IT darn it, so I bought it.Date: 4/30/2010 5:59:32 AM

Wow that sounds great! It''s going on my wish list for sure. Although I love the feel of paper and ''real'' books, I just read too much. There are piles of books everywhere in my house.
(Ok, so I could just join the library...but my local one isn''t great, they don''t have a huge amount of stuff and...waaaaaa I just wanna new gadget, especially one that I can dress up in pretty covers!!)
I LOVE the bird one too, but I thought to myself, "You CANNOT get the same one as Haven, even if you don''t know each other IRL and live in different states!" I wanted to be able to show a different one and not look like a copy cat.Date: 4/30/2010 11:52:29 AM

I LOVE that cover--my final choice was between the one I bought and the Camden Fair cover, how funny. The birds are what did me in for the style I chose. I love anything with animals.
Can''t wait to see your cover!
