Calling all volvo lovers....

So I decided on a new volvo. Purchase date is in two weeks. I found one that has everything I want except a charcoal colored headliner, heated back seats and polestar. Polestar can be added- it's just software upload.

The car is a black XC90 inscription. I wanted white but I do love black. My salesman has a call into volvo to see if it's possible to still custom order a 2018. The 2019's are out in the spring and the 2018's are HEAVILY discounted.

I don't want to settle, we are paying cash and my husband told me to get everything I wanted in the car. The black one fits the bill but I like white too. It would also be nice to have heated back seats, although my kids are 10 and 12 and I really don't feel like they are entitled to that luxury- LOL!

What would you do? The cost of the black one is gonna be way lower than a brand new 2019. Those will go for sticker price. Here is a link the black one I can get next week:

What is your honest opinion about the blond headliner vs. all black- my configuration shows the blond. I don't know if it's too many colors? Just looking for opinions- volvo dragging their feet getting back to my guy about whether I can still custom build a 2018. :roll

If you still love the one with the charcoal headliner and it way less expensive than the one with the white headliner I would go for the less expensive option. They are both beautiful and you would be saving a ton (more for bling!) and getting a great car! So that would be my vote. Good luck!

OMG my reading comprehension sucks. Sorry. Go for the discounted one if you love them both. That is what I would do. I wanted a grey car and that was a deal breaker for me so color was critical for me. But it sounds like you could be happy with either choice so then I would choose the less expensive option. And I would get the 2018 not the 2019 model to save the money as long as there were not any deal breakers involved. Does that make sense?

From that link it does not look like it clashes...I think it looks very pretty!
It is a good looking car for sure.

I'm a fan of black volvos. I know there is a white that is supposed to be sparkly. Is that the one you want? When I saw it in person, I wasn't as impressed with it, but I think it might look better in different types of light?

Have you been on the volvo forums? I too remember reading about a black headliner, it was a popular discussion point there. I think whatever forum I was on was making me a little crazy with all of the options I thought I had to have. I gave up a lot of them, because I went with a slightly used xc60. It was like 15k less than a new one, and I am a thrifty girl at heart. Paying cash doesn't persuade me to spend more, lol!

Anyway, my point is that a week into driving your super-cool new Volvo, you are not going to even think about a different color headliner. Now, heated rear seats may be another issue! I had wanted those initially too, but let it go and I don't seem to miss them!

Black is just so luxurious. I did read all the discussions. Some liked the black for the seamless look, others thought the lighter headliner made the car look bigger and lighter. I'm so glad to hear that you don't miss the heated rear seats! The car has remote start, so it will already be warm. What more do these kids want? LOL!

I tend to obsess about the details. It is a big purchase, and you want to get it right.

I think the car itself is stunning. Whichever one you get will be so comfy and safe to drive!

I can have the black one by the 22nd. The others I am sure it would be 6 weeks.... I can totally wait though.

I got the black. I wouldn't have even known about the difference in headliners had I not read about it. I drove the blonde and never even noticed. Will be here by the end of the week!

I would NOT pay extra for a color! White is a pain in the ass, EVERYTHING shows on it! My current car is white and I regret it. I know black can be a PITA too but having had several colors, white is my least favorite for maintaining.

I had an XC60 and am considering an XC90. My XC60 was navy blue with the blond interior. It looked super luxe. I think black with blond leather would be the same. Do it! ( - and save the bucks for bling!)

Those light leather interiors are very old-Hollywood-glam, to my eye. Love 'em!

Glad you got the black! I love a black car! They seem to look better longer to me than any other color. We have had plenty of white ones too, but love the black! Congratulations!

A tree fell on my XC90 during the winter storm we had Monday into Tuesday. I am due to trade it in tomorrow. What are the freaking chances? Thankfully the damage isn't too bad, but I know it's going to KILL my trade in value. If I file a claim it's another car fax report, so I'm just going to eat it.
