Awww, Blen adorable belly! How many weeks were you in the flatter tummy picture? You're about 24 now, right?

Pandora, I give up! I never found your name and when I posted a print screen on here to show you, admin removed it. I suppose you could find me and I have the same name as here also.

Neat, they are just beautiful!! I wanna squeeze them!

ETA: Nevermind, Pandora. Thanks, LadyCeil. I'm a goof.

Hi ladies and thanks for all the welcomes!

I don''t have my 1st OB appt until 10 wks.... I''m around 6wks. When I spoke to my OB on the phone to make my 1st appt she said to buy the One A Day prenatals... they also come with DHA vitamins and to take both of them. (I have been taking prenatals since May though... just not the DHA)

So for those who take it.... I need some help!!! So far I have been feeling okay. Not getting sick but nauseated throughout the day. It''s doable. However, the DHA vitamin, when I burp it.... this is SO gross... tastes like fish. It makes me gag and my eyes fill up with tears. Now, I LOVE fish, but this side effect is disgusting.

I wanted to get rid of them, but then of course I read up on how good they are for the baby''s brain and eyes and I would feel guilty not taking it. Does anyone have any tricks that worked? I was thinking of washing it down with orange juice since that taste is so strong it should mask everything else..???

Any advice?
Hi Neveah,

In the UK we are told not to take pre-natals once you are actually pregnant as they can hugely worsen nausea - instead it''s folic acid supplements and if bloodtests come back as anaemic or similar they add in then.

Frankly, if you have a well balanced diet you don''t almost certainly don''t need the supplements - if you are worried just eat lots of fish, pumpkin seeds, soya, walnuts and leafy green vegetables.

Dd-that sux! What was the poisoning from?? I had it one time from sushi
7.gif
..I hope u feel better.

Blen- o ok I thought it was just a natural product ..but I also hope I don''t need it ;-)

Sabine- sorry about not feeling good..but lots of coughing and sneezing will give u cramps and things..so stay positive ;-)
nycbkgirl, please be careful with ''natural'' products. Arsenic and Hemlock are natural too, but I wouldn''t suggest taking them
1.gif

Often they haven''t been subjected to the same rigorous testing procedures as orthodox drugs (many of which also use natural substances or synthetic versions of them) and they can have just as many nasty side-effects.

NF, what gorgeous photos of you all and the boys are so sweet. Congratulations to you and your husband, have a wonderful family Christmas.

DD, sorry to hear about the food-poisoning - and I hear you on the throwing-up being painful on the ligaments... not fun! Hope you feel back to normal soon.

Blen, gosh it never rains but it pours! Glad to hear the ctx are settling down. Your belly pics are lovely - I can''t believe people are only just asking ''if'' you are pg! Very neat bump!

It''s amazing how differently people carry - I was at a small drinks party last night with two other people who were pg. One was 32 weeks (first baby), one 29 weeks (second) and me at nearly 19 weeks. They both seemed to be carrying much closer into their bodies, whereas mine is all out the front (unless I turn sideways, you can''t tell I''m pregnant) - maybe that changes later on, I don''t know. They both thought I was further on than I was - I sincerely hope that I''m not having an elephant like the rest of my family produce (they specialise in 10lbs+
23.gif
).

You guys are all so amazing, so as a reward here is another picture from today! We are all doing really well, just enjoying our time together. Let me tell you that all the discomforts of pregnancy are so totally worth it when you look into the eyes of your kid(s) for the first time. Really amazing.

As for the birth story, there isn't much of one since it was a scheduled c-section! I was 37 w 6d, and we were scheduled for a c-section because Baby B (Dexter) was butt first. I was completely terrified of the spinal anesthesia, but really, it was super easy. The worst part about the entire thing was the nausea that I experienced in the OR, but they quickly got rid of it once I told them about it. The most amusing part of the delivery was that poor little Dexter had to be pulled out by the scrotum! Poor guy...his junk was just swollen huge yesterday! The surgery took under 45 minutes total and really it has been a pretty easy recovery so far. I can carry and hold the boys and am only a bit sore where the incision is. You do feel a bit detached from the process, but not from the babies. It was very easy for me to bond with them.

Sorry I can't reply to everyone individually, it's obviously a bit busy around here! Love you guys! (Max is on the left)
Yikes! Poor lil guy, hope he recovers quickly.

Glad to hear things went well neat, that's what we like to hear. And yes, isn't it the truth that the minute you gaze at those wee ones, everything else just melts away.

Pandora- thanx for the tip I don''t plan on taking anything other than the vitamins but I like to keep things in mind just in case ;-)..the only thing I take from the health store is the psyllium husks (which is just fiber)...constipation is on again! Urgh.

Neat your boys are just so gorgeous! I''m so in love. I''m glad everything went so well for you and hope that you are recovering and relaxing!

I went for my 11 week checkup and everything is great! The baby is measuring 2 days ahead (probably from all the food I''m eating
3.gif
). I''ve gained 2lbs, bp is normal. It was funny to see it moving around so much and not be able to feel anything. My doctor explained that after this appointment, all visits will be checking heartbeat with the doppler and no more ultrasounds until 20 weeks. That is when we''ll find out the sex. But everything went so well and I''m so relieved. My little brother went with me and he was so excited to see the baby move. I tried to get a photo scanned but its coming out too dark for some reason. I''ll try again later.

DD-Sorry about the food poisoning. Hope you are feeling better!
Blen-Cute belly shot! So many adorable mommies on here!!
Sabine-I hope the cold gets better. That''s the only part that sucks about the winter time.

Everyone else, have a great day hope you are all feeling good! Three more days till Christmas (for those celebrating). I can''t wait!

My back is really starting to hurt...mostly when I''m sitting at work. I typically lean forward and rest my elbows on the desk when I''m typing. I''m not sure how or if I even want to change how I''m sitting. Anyone else struggle with this at an office job? What have you done to help it?

Hey Courtney, my back and hips started hurting when I was sitting at work for good stretches of time. I don''t know if you can do this in your office, but I took another office chair and disassembled it, taking the back off. So I took the bottom part of the chair and shoved it under my desk and.... I now have a cushioned ottoman. It feels SO much better on my back, hips, legs, and feet to be able to elevate my feet for periods of time during the day. Any chance you can figure out a way to kick up your feet?
2.gif

Either way, I don''t recommend leaning forward and resting on your elbows to type! You''ll have to be tough on yourself and keep adjusting yourself when you find yourself sliding into that position. I''m sitting at my desk probably six hours a day, and have also started making sure that I get up at least once an hour. Before that, i would seriously zone up and not get up for hours!

Mine is going crazy - and not the usual place either...

I have what feels like a tight band of pain in the T3 region which runs right round just under your bust, and a really sore point about an inch right of my spine.

I finally put the TENS machine on tonight. TENS won't cure anything, but if you need to get something done and can't concentrate because of the pain, it can be useful.

I've booked an acupuncture session with my father over Christmas (he is fully qualified - even if I was his first guinea-pig years ago). I find it VERY helpful for breaking the pain/spasm cycle that can make backache so much worse.

Hot baths and hot microwave wheat bags are good as well.

Painkillers can stop an attack becoming chronic, so don't martyr yourself as it can make things worse.

Has anyone else found that their ligaments have loosened so much that they are feeling quite a lot of instability in their hips and spine?

Courtney I sent you a PM...

Thanks, everyone! The first pic was taken at 9 weeks 5 days, and the second at 24 weeks 1 day. I''m 24 weeks 4 days today. I went from 3w1d to 23w6d with no haircuts, which really helps with hair growth.

I think I get more people confused about whether or not I''m pregnant when I''m wearing a pullover or sweatshirt, but I still think I look pregnant in them!

DD - really cute belly! Definitely looking preggo now.

Courtney - work on good posture and on taking breaks to walk around every once in a while. Leaning forward is not so good. Back strengthening exercises (like the cat-cow in yoga) can also help.

Pandora, you mean like me pulling my hip (or whatever I did to it) by just walking down the street on Friday? (It''s finally starting to feel better, after a lot of rest.) And I''ve had ongoing problems with tailbone pain since pretty early on. My m/w taught hubby how to apply counterpressure to my tailbone and him doing that every once in a while does wonders. Plus it''s useful to know for labor!

DH went to work today, after a week of vacation, and was laid off within the hour. So it''s official now. No more wondering. The good news is that we know for sure that he gets Christmas off now.

We''re making progress on names, I think. Does anyone see any potential problems with Mary Wilhelmina or George Everett? We went a couple of weeks with Virginia Mary in the lead before we realized what was wrong with that one, and George Walker for a little bit before we remembered this guy, and a few hours with one with horrible tease-worthy initials, so I want to run the names by someone else just to make sure that we''re not missing something. (I know that you can''t help with the initials, but the ones for these names are fine.) George Lyell''s also on the table, or Virginia _______ (middle name not Mary). Mary, Virginia, Everett, Lyell, and Walker are all family names.

Sounds about right Blen. I have exercises to stabilise my spine that my spinal physio taught me and normally those muscles are super strong, but now something as simple as stepping off the kerb is jarring everything unless I''m careful. I''m getting quite nervous on public transport if I''m not sitting down (our bus drivers are maniacs here) and winter coats are not conducive to pointing out one is pregnant and getting said seat...

How is your hip doing?

I love Virginia as a name and Mary, but see the problem.

LOVE George Everett. I also like Mary Wilhelmina, but I think this depends on the last name- though I'm sure if it sounded weird with your last name, you wouldn't be considering it. I also like buttercup's suggestion of Mary Virginia.

He looks like his dad- We are thrilled and labor was really something! More about that later. Thanks for all your support and good wishes- keep Tyler in your prayers if you could.
