Calling all Canaidians!! I need your help!

I am buying a diamond from whiteflash and picking it up across the border in Buffalo, where should I get it appraised in NY state or in Toronto? If Toronto does anyone know where to go? Any Canadians that can give me any info on what else I might need to do?

Sorry, just saw this one. As I said in the other thread, it depends on your insurance provider. Mine required that I have the ring appraised in Canada, with my name as the owner. You really should call your provider first to make sure, and to advise them to be ready to add it to your policy. As soon as we handed them the copy of the appraisal, the ring was insured.

ETA: you can find a gemologist in the yellow pages (or online).
