I sound stupid but I'm still learning. I take a "bench jeweller" is a jeweller that has their own guy making custom stuff?
Please correct me if I'm way out of thee ball park.
However, do check out Britton Jewellers. I'm not sure if they are classified as a 'bench jeweller'. I think they are more of a B&M.
They have gorgeous diamonds and unique settings at good prices. I'm a little biased as they're our jeweller. www.britton.com They're worth a visit.
Another one is Gioielli Jewellers. They're at 2987 Granville Street 604-732-3265 ( I think this one is a 'bench jeweller')
Are you planning to visit Vancouver? I would love to see your gorgeous, stunning, massive rock in person.
Thank, Cdn, for the referrals. I''ll check them out.
I live in Vancouver!! Well, actually we live in North Vancouver. Just moved here from Washington 6 weeks ago. I''m wanting to find a good trustworthy jeweler to do minor repairs and the like.
Where in North Vancouver? I was born and raised in North Van, Upper Lynn Valley to be exact. I''m in Port Coquitlam now. Some of my family members still live there. How do you like living here oppose to Washington?
Check out Ron Davidson. He''s in North Van. His website is: http://www.canadian-diamonds-wholesale.com/. He has been mentioned before on this website for his quality work, he''s also won some awards (more info on his site). A friend of mine used him and he matched pricescope pricing on the diamonds, of course in Canada there are a lot more taxes, but the base price was the same as what you would pay on Pricescope, or about half what you would elsewhere in the city.
Some time ago a PS member mentioned to me (via pm) that he had a wonderful experience buying a ideal cut diamond and setting through Britton Jewellers. Although I have not used Davidson Jewellers in the past, I have viewed their website many times for diamonds (they are diamond brokers and custom jewellers) and they appear to be a full service B & M. My sister lives in West Van and has had repairs done there as well. Good luck.
