Calling all Canadian - Import / Excise Tax??

I''ve been searching the forum for discussion on Canadian import tax for an enagement ring and have gotten mixed responses.

Some said the tax has been abandon, some said there''s no import tax on loose stone and only on completed rings.

I do understand that I will have to pay GST/PST. Is there any additional import/excise tax I should be aware of?

Nope - they got rid of the luxury tax a while back. Just PST and GST if you are in Ontario.
