For those with wedding bands (can be diamonds, plan or otherwise) less than 3mm, how often do you wear the band alone (without your e-ring)? If your e-ring and wedding band are soldered together, just select never.

Thanks!!

Hey Sparkles,

My band is just under 3... and I wear the set (E-ring and band) to work everyday.. and then take the e-ring off for the gym and home (when I cook and do house stuff).. i put the e-ring on before work everyday..

Sometimes I just wear the band... and when I go diving i just wear the band.

I think my band is 2.3 mm - I need to find the receipt for it... it''s an eternity band that is about 1/2 size too big- I wear it w/ a small plain 1.8mm antique platinum band (to keep it on) alone about 3-4 days week. So together it''s more than 3mm, but if the eternity band fit perfectly I would wear it alone.

I just moved to a new area where it''s more casual and I am currently not working, so I don''t wear my e-ring all the time.

Yeah that''s my problem too. The e-ring and wedding band look like a set (purchased separately) and they are supposed to be the same size, but for some reason the wedding band is bigger. Since they both have some diamonds, but not full eternity I am worried if I sized just the wedding band smaller that the diamonds wouldn''t line up. So right now I am wearing the e-ring to help keep the band on, and I figure if I have to wear the e-ring anyway, I should just get them soldered so the diamonds stay lined up (although that doesn''t really bother me). I am just worried if I wear it alone it might fall off. Then again I don''t know if it''s because it''s a thinner band that it feels like it is going to come off easier or what...

how long have you been wearing them both?
I think that it is an adjustment to go from wearing just the e-ring to e-ring+w-band/ring.

Sometimes w-rings/bands are a tad larger because it's additional width and as the rings get wider they get tighter on your fingers.

If you got your w-ring sized it probably would not effect how the diamonds lined up because they would size just the back of the shank of the ring and they can size them ever so slightly.

ETA: my w-band is an estate eternity bands so we knew it would be a little too big when we got it.

I''ve only been wearing both a couple weeks. They are the same width, the ering and the band. I think they feel different because the e-ring is a little more difficult to get off and the band isn''t. I have actually had the wedding band a little longer so it is more oval then the e-ring.

I have just been wearing my wedding band for a few weeks two. And just this morning was the first time I wore the w-band alone. I prefer to wear both together for now, but I like the option of wearing the w-band alone with still a little sparkle. I also noticed that the band on the engagement ring appears to be slightly wider than the wedding band. Both are supposed to be 2.2mm, but in actuality the wedding band might be more like 2mm.

I said weekly. There are sometimes I just love a little bit of dainty sparkle and can't wear my ering for work reasons.

My WB is 2.5mm and I wore it alone while in Mexico for our honeymoon. Otherwise I usually sandwich it between two 2mm WG bands b/c I do feel like even on my small hand it looks kind of strange by itself.

Mine is 2.5 with 12 itty bitty diamonds and it''s one of those that has the slight dip down (kind of like the old school birds kids draw on pictures with the sun and trees, like a lazy "M") to accomodate my engagement ring''s low sitting diamond.

I''ve looked at it on my hand alone, and I think it looks fine, but I''m still so newly married that I can''t imagine being without BOTH!!

My wedding band is larger than my engagement ring, too. I wonder why that happens so often. Both were ordered the same size: 4.25.

Well, I''m not married yet but I tried on alot of eternity bands before I settled on a very very thin one, both in width and profile, because even though I''d like a bigger, wider eternity/wband to wear solo, anything over 2mm was uncomfortable on my finger with my ering..Which is odd because the shank on my ering is extremely thin...but even so, I finally found a deco vintage band that is very very thin so I dont even feel its on when I wear them together. Sure I wish it was wider to wear alone but I''m not yet at the point where I''m at all tired of wearing my ering! Maybe later on I''ll get a wider one...But I do like the look of a thinner band. More dainty.

My wedding band is a plain, 2 mm pipe cut band. I usually wear it with my engagement ring (princess in a Quadrillion setting) because I love my engagement ring so much.

However, I also really love the simple look of a plain, slim band, so I sometimes wear just the wedding ring.

I didn''t vote. For what it''s worth (I''ve been married for less than a week), I never wear my 2 mm wedding band alone. I also have a 2.5 mm wedding band that I wear alone when I''m doing things that are hard on my hands, which happens on a daily basis. I''m wearing it right now in hopes that I''ll get myself off the computer and do some pushups and situps.
