Picked out my setting -- Legato Sleek Line.

I know you can't go wrong with A Cut Above, but I'm leaving this up to you experts. Not a huge selection, but I need to get this purchased. Looks like my range is .75-.85ctw.

Thanks for all your help!

Thank you. I actually had that .792ct picked out. What's another $600 to bump up to the .864ct tho.... is it really worth it? Is the feather on the outside going to be alright? Any specific reason besides size increase? Just curious as I don't know a lot about diamonds.

Thanks

I would say it is worth it to bump up to the .864ct, since the price difference is minimal and it gets you a larger stone with a higher color.

You may want to ask Whiteflash to pull both and give you some side-by-side opinions, since they have both stones in-house. Since they can see the stones side-by-side, they will be able to give you the pros/cons of each option in a very real way.

Again, either option will be awesome, so congrats!

That larger one is a stunner. Call them right now and see what you can discuss with both. If nothing else put the larger one on hold.

I agree the bump up is so worth it . A pretty setting is "nice" but a stone closer to 1.0 carat is prefered.

Thank you everyone for your opinion. I figured everyone would persuade me to something larger... haha! My girlfriend is a nurse and she actually prefers the smaller stone. She isn't the type that needs a 1ct on her finger.

Any other added suggestions would be appreciated!

Found this ACA in I color... http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-3273941.htm#

What are your feelings with an Ideal Cut I Color?

I would prefer the .792ct stone I had posted above.

Why?

The H-colored stone is approximately the same size (look at face-up diameter) and higher color for only about $100 more. If you don't know the color sensitivity of the recipient, I would suggest staying at H-color and above, to be safe.

Thanks Rocky,

Does that feather in the .864ct on the pavilion scare you at all? Seems to be of good size.

It doesn't scare me, since the stone received an SI1 clarity from AGS, and SI1 stones from reputable labs do not have durability concerns.

I would just talk with Whiteflash on the phone and see if they have any concern, since they can see the stone in person. They do a pretty good job of giving it to you straight.

They may even say, seeing the stones in person, side-by-side, the .792ct is a better choice!

Thank you diamondseeker. I'm going to call and have them look at all 3 for me. Wish me luck

You really can't go wrong with any of those three. You've got a winner any way you look at it.

Let us know how it turns out!
