sorry for another advice request thread but here we go.

been reading around and checking and more reading and visiting etc etc. after being kind of disapointed with the selection available at my local stores i''ve decided to go online. i''ve basically narrowed it down to these 3 http://www.whiteflash.com/diamonds/Compare_Diamonds.aspx?idnos=664431,114378,118535 ( the .7 carat seems the most impressive to my untrained eye) and would like to know what you guys think.

Feel free to suggest others. She likes the princess cut and i''m trying to go quality over straight size but would like to keep it over .6. Anything over $3k for the diamond will be breaking the bank.

its likely to go in http://www.whiteflash.com/Engagement-Rings/Styles/Solitaire/-Legato--Sleek-Line-Diamond-Solitaire_1118.htm

thanks for your time

The ACAs you have picked are all nice stones (can't go wrong with an ACA) and since I am not an expert with princess cuts I could not tell you which one is nicer. I will say that with PR cuts try to get as large as you can afford because they face up a little smaller than rounds. And unless it is truly your preference, VVS's are more clarity that I personally need.

Here is a stone a tiny bit larger and lower in clarity. Just another one to consider if you are trying to keep your budget in check.

I *prefer* #2 but they are all nice stones :)

Welcome!

They all look super, what I would do is ask for Bob at WF to discuss each with you if you can''t choose between them. Also you might be aware you could lower the clarity to VS without visual sacrifice with this calibre of cut but if you prefer higher clarity then of course this is no problem!

the fact they were all vvs2 was just because thats all there was lower than an I cololor. thank you for the suggestions

I thought that might have been the case, they all look great!

since many people on these forums seem to trust the employees at whiteflash (a rare thing in the jewelry industry i''d imagine) i will indeed contact them.

as for the size concerns most of the rings she has been looking at are smaller even then these. All of them are bigger then the selections i was given at B&M stores as well (not to mention going from an average gia to an ideal ags).

i would also like to apologize for the title of the thread it was my sleep deprived and nervous (first time engagement etc etc) attempt at breaking the ice but given the subject matter (and possible insult to other member''s rings) it was in quite bad taste.

Congrats!!!

Ryan,

If you have decided on #2 and plan on buying in the very near future, call them and have them hold/reserve it for you. Some of these diamonds move very quickly.

Also, make sure you mention Pricescope and you will get an additional discount off the price listed on their webpage.

I think she is going to be very happy. Nice work and congratulations!

Please keep us posted. We like diamond pictures, ring pictures, engagement/proposal pictures and stories, and the girls like hand pictures (with the ring, of course)!
