Hello,
As the topic says, I'm buying my diamond online, I found really good deals.
the 2 diamonds i'm looking at are Egl international which scares me ...

the 543 pictures dimaond specs : 1.32, F, VS1, Signature Ideal (totaldepth: 60.7%, table width 55%, crown height 17%,pavilon depth 42%, thin faceted, and EX EX )

the 711 pictures diamond specs are : 1.28, F, VS1, Signature Ideal (totaldepth: 62.6%, table width 58%, crown height 15%,pavilon depth 43%, meduim faceted, and EX EX )

from what i see i notice an inclusion in the 711, from middle if you go a little top left, and I think the color is off , definitly not F ( I read EGL tend to upgrade color grades )

If anyone can point anything about the diamonds, or say what they think they are, I know it's not possible to be accurate, just an approximate of which one is better from those pictures, it would be grately appriated

then why are you looking at them??...

The price is really good ! and the specs are very high, So i thought if clarity drops a grade or two, it should still be fine ...
Am I thinking wrong ?? that's what I'm trying to get other people's opnions for :)

Re: Buying online, Only have Pictures and Report, Help Pleas

I can speak from recent experience I just purchased studs both are EGL international

stone 1

they say F color SI1 I had it looked at by independent jeweler H sI2 (clean with little speckles like I see on your diamond 1

stone 2

they say G color sI1 the independent jeweler found I I1 (totally eye clean but carbon inclusions inside)

he told me that the ideal cut were probably excellent and not ideal but the fire was great and that was my priority.

you must look at these stones under a microscope and have someone else look at them.

EGL International is not reliable to doesn't mean there stones aren't beautiful

(look under topic forum EGL International studs and you'll see mine)

Adam that's how I felt and since I wanted 2.40 total carat weight for my ears I was willing to compromise

If it were my engagement ring I would have gone smaller and GIA all the way

They are beautiful and i might send them GIA but again if it were for my ring not sure I would have gone without GIA

yes, you"ll get what you pay for.. ;)) how much are they asking for these stones?

Re: Buying online, Only have Pictures and Report, Help Pleas

the 1.34 carat, they are asking 6600 $
and the 1.28 carat they are asking 7400...

the one I think is actually nicer is the cheaper one ... It makes absulotly no sense to me hehe

Re: Buying online, Only have Pictures and Report, Help Pleas

Both could be nice, if you like the cheaper one then go for it!

For that price, I am seeing lots of J color, so if it turns out I SI1 or better, you did ok.

I would not consider EGL International. You are more likely to overpay than to get a good deal.

Re: Buying online, Only have Pictures and Report, Help Pleas

assuming that the diamond is wiped cleaned with no dust specs, the diamond is in no way a VS1 diamond. the inclusions are reflected all around the diamond. At best, it would be an SI1 in GIA's grading standards.

Stick to AGS or GIA only especially if you are buying online.
