Hello! You guys here have been incredibly helpful with helping me make an educated decision with diamonds. I'm excited to be buying my engagement ring within the next month and would love if you guys could help me pick out a great diamond!

This is the band I'm working with:

Ritani micropave with milgrain finish in platinum. The side diamonds are minimum H color.

These are the diamonds I'm looking at: Which one would you recommend?

1.035 ct H VS2 A CUT ABOVE® Super Ideal Princess Cut Diamond

2. http://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/princess-cut-loose-diamond-3208946.htm
1.127 ct H VS1 A CUT ABOVE® Super Ideal Princess Cut Diamond

1.057 ct G VS2 A CUT ABOVE® Super Ideal Princess Cut Diamond

A few questions:

1. Will a ACA princess cut look fine in H color? Would I be able to drop down to an "I" for a slightly bigger diamond without noticable color? Or should I not go below the color of the mircopave diamonds?

2. Will a princess cut diamond with measurements of at least 5.5mm x 5.5mm look "big enough" on my girlfriends hand? Her finger size is a 5 and that band it 2.2 mm thick. I don't want it too look too small!

My budget is around $8,000-9,000 including the ring. (Ring is $2,880) Thanks for any suggestions or help!

Of those three, I would choose the G VS2 since it is the largest in diameter and a very nice stone. I have no problem with G or H in princess cuts but I color is on the borderline of being able to see some tint. I'd go for G or H unless they say that the stone below happens to be a very high I color.

As to size, it is what it is. The only way I know to make a larger appearance is to do a halo setting. But I am not so fond of totally square halos. You might be able to get one with cut corners, though.

It's interesting to see the 1.035 H VS2 again. I recall a thread where TL said that because it had a chip in it, it wasn't qualified for ACA designation and was going to be repolished- any update on that TL?

If it hasn't been repolished I'd recommend avoiding it due to the chip in the corner.

I like the G VS2 also. From just looking at the stones, the first one looks like its going to have lots of little sparkle. The
second looks like its going to be bigger sparkles and the 3rd one looks like a good combination of both.

I think G/H are fine. An "I" might start to show a little tint that may or may not bother you. You would have to see some
AGS000 I colored princess in person to know.

Did you pick out the setting or did your GF... just wondering.

I wasn't aware that one had a chip! Thanks. That one is definitely out of the running then.

She picked out the band. We saw it in person and she fell in love with it

I would go down to an I , if its well cut, it wont be a noticeable difference in color. I have an I color princess and it rarely ever looks warm, and all the pave on my ring and the stones in my wedding band are G -H color

Thanks! I may consider and I color for a slightly bigger stone. I guess worse case, if it has noticeable color I could send it back to white flash and go with an H or G.

Talked to my girlfriend more about her preference in a diamond and brought up color. She gave me the "I'll be happy with anything you get me" line. I'm looking at getting an I color now to expand my options.

How important is the depth on a princess cut? I found a 1.007 carat for almost $2000 less. The length and width are larger then the 1.1-1.2 carats I've been looking at but the depth is smaller. I assume it would face up larger looking?

Its 5.64xx5.59x3.93 and its a ACA stone
