Buying an eternity band in Japan?

I’ve been wanting a natural eternity band forever and am finally kind of ready to pull the trigger.

We’re going to Japan early next year for our 10 year wedding anni! Crazy how that flew by… my husband suggested I get a designer bag as a souvenir but I’m pretty happy with the 1 I have.

Do you think it’d be more cost effective to buy a band in Japan with the conversion rate? Does anyone have any recommendations? I’d need a size 7 so this might be a problem if that’s not a commonly stocked size there.

Also, if anyone knows how to keep a 3 year old & a 1 year old entertained on a 9 hour flight, I’d appreciate some advice. Thank you!

Some folks here have purchased from Japan so hopefully they will chime in with their thoughts.

As for the kids, can you book a flight at night so they can sleep for the majority of the time? Take an IPad to watch something fun for them or maybe read books to them?

Going there will be during the day and then the return flight is overnight. My 1 year old still wakes several times a night so hopefully the return flight is ok.

I am planning to buy an iPad for this trip. We have the kids fire tablet since we only let our kids use it when we travel and that thing is awful. Neither my kid nor myself know how to use it.

I do plan to bring books, activities, and a million snacks.

The longest flight my kids have been on was 5.5 hours. My oldest is real hit or miss when it comes to flying. He also just dropped his nap even though he still clearly needs it so I’m praying he behaves.

It largely depends on how quickly exchange rates move and vendors adjust prices. I was price shopping new pieces from Cartier, Chanel, Chaumet, Tiffany, and Mikimoto in the past year, and only the Mikimoto pieces are substantially cheaper in Japan vs the US.

For most international designer brands I think the price increases in the coming months will be a bigger factor. The prices of gold and platinum are still increasing, and US tariffs will be factored into price increases in the coming months. Cartier has already announced price increases in some countries this month and others will likely follow.

Aww our kids are similar ages! The tablet/iPad thing is tough. We did a big roadtrip recently and the kids had screentime but then everywhere we went they demanded it. But at least that kept them well behaved. Enjoy your trip to Japan, that's on my list one day too.
