Buying A Setting Only

I have hunted through vendors on here but can't quite find what I'm looking for. Does anybody know of a vendor who sells settings & mounts only? I am looking to get some quotes together to have my pear reset into a simple Tiffany Cathedral style, but feel a bit lost as I've never had to do this before & there doesn't seem to be many UK vendors who sell just a mount

James Allen sells a tiffany (6-prong) cathedral setting, and I believe they will sell it alone. Just give them diamond stats, and they can build it. Their customer service chat function is excellent and open 24 hrs

I would go custom with ERD or one of the master benches if your budget is high enough. I mean, they will set your stone, if that's what you mean.

Ooh, thank you! Will check them out. I have also discovered Stuller too - they will do it as well.

Niel - I don't want to be sending my existing ring to the US to be set. My stress levels couldn't handle the postage suspense of knowing my diamond got there OK as it cost me too much money I just want to have a setting made to the right specification, sent to me & then my lovely jeweler can do the rest. He is fabulous, but he's also very high end, so everything is hand made & cast. I met with him yesterday to discuss & talk measurements, and he will charge me £1,250 to make me a new ring. Plain. No diamonds. In the Tiffany Cathedral style. Too many of the women where I live are stinking rich, which pushes the prices up for the rest of us

I'd maybe ask someone like edr if, with your specs and pics, they can JUST cast you a mount, without sending them anything. Doesn't hurt toask, right?
