buying a setting online/local

Hello, I am deciding either to buy a setting online or through a local store. I have the diamond that I bought off the internet from whiteflash, and found a setting I like, but what are the pros and cons to that? Would I be able to take my ring to just any store to get cleaned and checked?

Different jewelry stores have different outlooks on providing routine service for rings that they didn''t sell, we always took the approach that our free ring cleaning and inspection service provided us with an opportunity to earn the customers future business... By providing excellent customer service for something that we did not sell (this time), we hoped to be the jeweler that the customer thought of first the next time. I''m sure there is a jeweler in your area with a similar mindset, you might have to ask a few friends to find the right one.

well thank you, so would you recommend buying the whole setting and diamond from the internet, or buying it from a local? Like what are the pros and cons? If any one bought their setting online where you happy with that? Did you ever have any problems?

I bought online and if I need it service I either send it back to the vendor which takes a little while (plus I have my ring insured) or take it to a local vendor to service it (it may be a small fee or it maybe free depending on the jeweler).
