Hi guys

Just joined the forum. I am looking to buy a round diamond with the following characteristics: 0.82 carat I color SI2 clarity diamond.

Apparently there is no fluorescence.

Generally speaking, is this a good diamond - or will it be too yellow/will the imperfections show (is SI2 high enough clarity)?

Any advice appreciated.

From what you're asking it seems you haven't seen the stone in person? The most important thing is that you take a good look at the stone, either before you buy it, or from a place with an excellent no questions asked return policy.

Typically when you look for specific triple ex or brand name cuts such as August Vintage at good old gold or Solasfera etc, much of the guesswork is taken out of it. If you are looking for a non branded stone, then the specs are all the forum has to go by.

What you shared isn't enough information. I as a colour will definitely be different to a F, to many eyes (but again not all), and even then the setting and metal colour matter, as does your colour tolerance and sensitivity.

The only thing I'd shout a warning about if you haven't seen the stone is the clarity. At SI2, there is a very likely chance that the stone will have eye visible inclusions. Even at SI1, you'll have to be careful to pick a stone that is eye clean. If the grade was VS1 or better, then it Should not matter.
