Hello everyone,

I found a supposed real Tiffany Etoile on Ebay. I''m well aware of Ebay fraud, but I think it''s real. The seller has other pieces she''s selling that are her old Tiffany things, and she has maintained an excellent rating over several years.

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQsassZlbsunshine!

Thing is, she only has the insurance appraisal sheet from Tiffany available (states the color, size, & clarity of the diamond, the ring style, and the worth). She doesn''t have the diamond certificate, but says perhaps Tiffany could look this information up based on the ring serial number. Does anyone know if this is possible? Why would someone lose that paperwork? Were the diamond certificates not handed out back in 2004? Does this seem fishy?

Thanks in advance.

The 0.37ct platinum solitaire looks like the real deal, but there is always a degree of risk that something is incorrect. I searched if the "report" number on the paperwork was afor a GIA Lab report and it does not appear to be one. Maybe it was a T & Co lab report and not GIA. I was just guessing if this is the one you were looking at, too. The seller is the right one.

Thank you so much for looking into this. I called Tiffany customer service, and the representative said she was "pretty sure" I could get a duplicate of the diamond certificate if I call the NY flagship store. It would be great if they could tell me if it was authentic over the phone, but it IS one of the busiest weekends of the year!
