Hi guys! Been searching for an engagement ring when I stumbled across this. She posted a picture on her ?pinterest? account that her sister sent me, and I actually found the exact ring she posted :) It's the Tiffany legacy, and I'm fine with a replica as would she :)

and for a cushion cut diamond

thoughts, I'm very skeptical about making such a large purchase online. Also, what happens if the rings a hair to big?

no pictures?

You might consider putting an antique style cushion into a Legacy replica.

I don't know what an antique style is?

If you click the link, it will show you a bunch of other customers photos of the ring. I don't know if this website is recommended and if anyone has used them.

I've tried multiple jewelers in my area that just don't have exactly what I'm looking for. I have 1 more place left to look.

Excel is a reputable vendor - I bought a round from them several years back with no problems.

As was said above, the Legacy replicas are very common - no reason to confine yourself to Excel.

As far as the stone goes, it's hard to say anything about it - you need to ask for idealscope / ASET images on it to have any idea of how well it performs in terms of cut quality.

The Legacy is a rather "antique" looking style of setting, and I think an antique style cushion would look fabulous and you may want to have her take a look at some videos and see if she likes them. Good Old Gold sells their August Vintage brand of cushions, which are guaranteed great light performance. Other highly recommended vendors include Engagement Rings Direct (They have done beautiful work in this exact style of setting, and they have very nice cushions of all flavors), Perry Chen at Leon Mege, and Victor Canera I believe now has an antique style cushion.

Here is one (of many) videos comparing modern vs antique styles of cushions

ERD and GOG have both made Legacy type settings, and ERD has built a nice reputation with the quaility of their benchwork - many people have been very satisfied with their items from them.

Just food for thought -

Wow thanks for the help everyone, the antique is quite impressive but it seems like neither sellers have the setting I want. If I'm buying online, I'd rather buy both the stone and setting in one place. I understand what you mean by pictures now, I'll try to find one with actual shots and closeups of it. Time to keep hunting :)

PS My budget for a ring is right around $6000

Well I found it on EGR, but only in 18K :angryfire: Also it's an extra $500 but if the quality is superior to that of excel, then I wouldn't mind spending it.
I found a couple of nice stones on EGR but all of them don't have any idealscope/ASET images posted. I'm growing fond of the antique but they are a bit more $$ and scarce as well.

ERD you mean? Have you asked them about making it in 14K? Their quality of craftsmanship has been very good recently, as people have been very impressed and happy with their rings from them - that may be worth the extra few hundred now to get a well made setting that won't lose stones, etc. And just because there are no ASET images associated with certain stones doesn't mean they can't take some - I believe their inventory is in-house. I'd call them -

And GOG has a bench and has made Legacy replicas before as well - here's a video of one:

ERD makes exceptional Legacy replicas.

That GOG is a bit to round imo, but almost identical.
I have a few emails into ERD.
