Hi All,
I''m looking to make a engagement ring purchase within the next few months and I was wondering what type of questions I should ask when I''m making a diamond purchase off the internet? I know this is a broad question so
for an example let''s say I''m looking at this ring:

http://www.whiteflash.com/round_ideal_cut/Round-Ideal-Cut-cut-diamond-646446.htm

1. The first thing to ask for is the GIA Certificate right?
2. If good, would I ask for them to send me a picture? What type of picture? Light conditions? How many?
Would Sarin Analysis or a Ideal Scope be something they could provide if I ask.
3. Obviously I''ll ask for a pricescope price and/or a bank wire price.
4. Ask if the ring is clean to the naked eye?
5. How safe is it purchasing with over bank wire? This would be depend on the company I assume.
6. Are there any other questions that should be asked to verify the quality of the ring?

Thanks!
- Peter

These are all very good questions that I''ve been meaning to ask as well. I''ll be following this thread.

Those are very good questions. But I think Whiteflash already gives all those types of reports anyway and they also have really good pictures. Also, they''re one of the favorite vendors on PS and so I don''t think a wire would be unsafe at all. They''re very reputable.

When you shop on the WhiteFlash site, you really want to focus on the stones that they cut for their own collection because they are top quality cuts. So on the search, look for ACA''s first. There you can access the actual picture of the stone, the lab report, idealscope, etc. All ACA''s are well cut, so it relieves you of having to work too hard to figure that out! In addition, they also have in-house ideal cut stones within their Expert Selection area, and those are stones that are top cut quality but for some minor reason, they did not meet their branded ACA requirements.

There are no concerns whatsoever about wiring money to WhiteFlash. I am many others on this forum have done it. They are a reputable company and very customer focused. So there are no worries!

I bought a Whiteflash stone for my brother last year - I''m based in the UK.

Whiteflash had the GIA report, photographs, ASET, Idealscope pictures all on the stone details.

He bought a 1.05 H SI1 - the cut was amazing and the diamond faces up very white. I checked that it was eyeclean, and it was indeed eyeclean.

I am SUPER-PICKY and have eagle-eyes and I couldn''t fault the stone or the service.

Payment was easy too.
