Just don''t know which one yet =)

The perfect opportunity came up for me to propose so I''m very excited yet very time limited (I know, very bad thing) on making a decision.

Would like an opinion as to which of these are best overall.

All look very nice in polish/sym/girdle/no fluo.
All are Princess Cut (#3 is 1.11 ratio) as well and all have recent GIA certs.
My main concern is brilliance which all seemed to have the same amount.
Sine I''m not an expert I thought I''d ask the pros here.
Thank you VERY VERY much for any reply.

#1 1.32 F VS1 66 depth, 69 table (6.18x6.13 x4.18 ) $8k

#2 1.31 G VVS2 72 depth, 66 table (5.91x6.01 x4.3) $7.3k

#3 1.5 E VS2 72 depth, 66 table (6.84x6.16 x4.43) $8.9k

#4 1.2 G VS1 73 depth, 73 table (5.86x5.86 x4.29) $5.8k

#5 1.51 G VS2 73 depth, 69 table (6.36x6.25 x4.3) $10k
-------------------------------------------------------------

#3 has a nick/abrasion in a corner. The salesperson assured me this could be polished away but I''m wary. Also #3 is more rectangular but is 1.11 ratio too large to even consider since light would leak through?

Again, thank you very much for the help. And if you happen to be in Seattle Saturday you may just run into me

Hi Mike

I am by no means an expert, but since time is of the essence and having done some princess research myself, I'll share with you what I can gather from the info you have. I hope it's of some help to you. Some experts have stated on this site previously that as a general rule for princess cuts the depth should always be greater than the table. The condition of #3 is questionable, plus it's not square (in my mind that's a big minus though some would disagree). That leaves us with #2 and #5. My heart would go with #5 (who wouldn't want 1.51) except that it's WAY overpriced. Therefore, I would go with diamond #2.

It's an expensive and incredibly important purchase Mike. You may want to reconsider rushing in it.

I hope a GG responds to you soon and best of luck whatever you choose!

I have been looking for awhile now on the princess cuts. What is rushed is not my time invested in researching but rather the time I had to have the diamond purchased.

My girlfriend's schedule was changed thus changing the date I'm going to propose from late Sept. to August. Of the 15 stores I've gone to these are the best of their selection including one's they can order overnight.

Thank you very much for the response. I myself was leaning towards #2 as well even though the sound of 1.5 ct. seems better to the average person.

Anyone else with thoughts?

I agree with fuffi.
She helped me decide against a princess cut I put on hold. While any girl would love the (#5) 1.5 carats, it seems awfully expensive. You may be better off with the (#2) 1.3 carat - after all it's still over a carat and has better clarity. And you can use the 3 grand you save to get her a really beautiful setting to enhance that lovely stone.
In the end its up to you, but I would also agree #2 would be a good purchase.
Good luck and let us know what you decide.
