I have a friend who called the wedding off... and looking to sell the ring the diamond is a emerald cut 8.45 x 5.63 x 3.64 total 64% and table 69% very good cut and polish it is a VS2 E Color from EGL. She is in another state so I am not able to see the ring myself. Does this sound like it would be a nice diamond? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Pricescope!

The table seems kind of big, and that may make it look more glassy as opposed to firey. But, it''s all up to personal taste. For a fancy cut, you really would be better off seeing before buying.

here are some threads on emerald cuts. You can do different searches to obtain some more info using the "search" tool. Also, you can use the "pricescope your diamond" tool to see if the asking price is good.

Good Luck!

BTW- could she email you the certs or pics?

i too was looking for a smaller table size but in the end ended up with a 72 % table and 61.8% depth and mine is a very pretty stone. also when i was looking GOG showed me a stone with a larger table and claimed it was gorgeous. so, you really must see the ring in person. if you are getting a "good deal" on the stone, i sure would not pass up the chance to evaluate it. can you have it sent to you and take it to a local appraiser ?

i wouldn''t pass it up b/c of the table size alone. i''m sure there are other criteria and if you could get some macro-lens photos of the ring and post it here, the "experts" could give you some opinions too.
