After not purchasing the previous diamond I posted regarding (thanks for the replies for that one btw), I have a new diamond on hold that, on paper, seems perfect. I''ve been told by the sales rep that the stone is eye-clean, and that the fluor does not impart any milkiness. HOWEVER, they say they do not have a camera of necessary specs to take digital pics, idealscope, or ASET images of the stone. It is a major retailer from what I gather here on Pricescope, Solomon Brothers. The specs follow. Would you buy the stone sight unseen, or would that worry you? I plan on taking it to an appraiser after receiving it, and they do have a return policy, although I don''t know how easy it is to return stuff.
1.56ct G SI1
Pol/Sym: VG/VG
Cut grade: EX
crown angle: 33.5%
pav angle: 41%
table: 59%
depth: 60.7%
star: 55%
bottom half: 80%
cutlet: none
fluor: strong blue
Would people buy the stone and send it to an appraiser? I was thinking of sending it to David Atlas? If it doesn''t measure up, I just eat the cost of the appraiser?
Thanks!
