Kenny, first check to see if it's not grey market vs domestic. The part numbers don't appear to be, so it seems it's the same.

I do see this from time to time with Amazon 3rd party vendors and the vendor's site. Perhaps on buy.com, it's because they are actually competing with buy.com itself.

As long as it's from Adorama, you should be fine. Keep in mind you will be paying tax if you buy from buy.com because you are in California and so are they. Adorama will not have tax for you.

oh, and Kenny, send me the links and I will check it out.

Thanks TG.

I edited to add them to my OP.

Kenny, I wouldn't have a problem buying from the buy.com link. In fact, you may not be paying tax, because it is coming from Adorama.

I have no idea why it's cheaper, but I'd go for it.

There's a lot of competition out there so it's no surprise re: the variance in price. I sell on Amazon and ALWAYS put my items up at a lower price than others. For example, I had a book which brand new was selling between $200-300 and I sold it for $89 and it sold immediatly. The fact is people shop around and if a seller (company) expects top dollar an item may sit for months or even a year.

Thanks galz.

A few months ago I bought a cheapo third party No-Name wireless remote for my camera.
I never do that; I always pay for the real deal thinking the quality is worth it.
But I took a chance.

OPPS!

Sure enough the cheapo crapped out, DUH!
So I'm going to get what I should have gotten to begin with.

Adorama is my local store and I've used them for, dare I even say it, decades. after comapring the two listings back and forth the only explanation I could manage is that perhaps adorama changed their pricing since the List price quoted in the listing on buy.com is still less than the adorama price. My guess is that prices changed, adorama updated its website but failed to update every internet discount place it has ties with so it could be your lucky day!

That would be my guess too.
