I love the design -- but I''m older! But I do think it''s a nice mix of classic, elegant, and vintage, and it sounds like you did a great job matching the ring to your gf'' preferences/style.

Can I just say I think it''s great that the store treated you well (very smart on their part!) and I also think it''s great to see two young men posting on this forum about shopping at Bvlgari. Your gf''s are lucky ladies.

Ditto (almost) everything Sara said! The dedicata venitia is a stunner!

Congratulations to you both!

Nick,

how come it took so long? you had a special diamond size in mind that made it difficult to locate?
cause normally they have a worldwide real time stock view, and the shipping itself takes only a couple of days...
Not sure why it took so long, I asked about it back in Feb, they told me it would be available some time in April and then it ended up being the end of June!Happy I waited though!
If you don''t mind me asking, who was your sales person there?Mine was Marco, the Italian guy.

I''m over fifty. Interesting. I would think of this as a ring for a younger woman. Maybe it''s just my circle but I think of young girls preferring the white metal and the pave and the squarish stones (or stones put into settings that make them look squarish)--or at least the fashion forward of whatever age preferring them. The only thing that I think is''older'' about that ring is that it looks too sizeable in the picture for most very young couples to afford.

I do tend to associate Bulgari with the 1960''s and Liz Taylor and Jackie Kennedy for some reason, though.

I think it''s a pretty ring. It''s not my personal taste as I''m not a pave person, I don''t like lots of little diamonds, I''d prefer a plain band for me. But that would destroy this particular design and I''m in a definite minority in not liking the little diamonds. I do think its very interesting that they did a double band. The other ring is also extremely interesting--on the one hand it looks very modern indeed and on the other hand, it reminds me of belcher settings in Victorian times (though modified to stick out less, if I''m being clear). Very interesting. The first ring I''d think is pretty safe but although I personally like the 2nd ring a lot, I don''t think I''d dare to present that one to someone who hadn''t seen it first, because it seems likely to be one that you either love or hate KWIM?

Best of luck to both you gentlemen and I do hope you come back with hand shots. I can see you have put a lot of thoughts into your choices and your FF''s are lucky to have you.

Went to Rick''s link. the ring does look different there seem from other angles. From being there, I''d say it was much safe than I originally thought seeing just the photo on the Bulgari site. I always thought I''d personally like it, now I think I would say that most people would like it.

Hi blackjade,

well, i think you pointed what i couldn''t really name regarding nick''s ring, i think i''m not a pave person either... since i never really was into jewelry (i don''t wear anything myself) looking for my e-ring was like entering a complete new world for me, and it is now clear that what bugged me was the "pave setting". that is what''s great in all the different types of settings, everyone has different tastes and there so many possibilities to please everyone !

Nick,
i don''t mind at all, but it won''t be very helpful

i live in belgium and bought it at the brussels shop, guy''s name was Steven, the shop manager. Like many people said it IS kind of intimidating to shop in this kind of shops (at leat it is for me)
but again, they were outstandingly nice, professional, helpful, and not pushing at all. their idea of customer satisfaction is really top notch (of course it seems logic since you pay almost twice the price you would pay for a non brand product of the same value, but by reading other posts i notice is not always the case for other "big" names...) i first contacted them by phone, he made some researches, called me the day after and proposed me 3 stones available on that setting, and told me that if i was really interrested, he would ship them from italy to belgium without any obligation, so i could have an idea what it really looks like. 3 days after the ring was there and stole my heart ! He asked me when i was going to propose and added that if she was not happy with it, i shall not hesitate to come back to choose something else cause the most important was that i would be completely satisfied with my purchase. i felt safe with that in mind.
