REPOST

Hi all,

I mentioned this earlier, but want to say it again. THANKS EVERYONE FOR ALL THE HELP!

Now, here is my situation. I purchased a Beverly K ER setting at a company called "Village Jewelers" in Alrington, TX. I didn''t feven know it was a Beverly K until someone pointed it out to me. The whole reason I got it though was because my soon to be Fiance''s twin sister confirmed that the style below would be exactly the one my girl friend would love!Somebody helped me track it down online and the setting is attached below.

I just ordered a diamond on Blue Nile that will fit this setting yesterday and it will be arriving tomorrow. Now I live in Seattle, WA. so having "Village Jewelers" set the stone is not what I''d like to do because I do not feel secure mailing the setting and the diamond to Texas. I would rather find a jeweler here in Seattle that will resize the mounting and set the stone. My question is, should I have the stone and mounting appraised and insured before I let a jeweler lay their hands on it.

Does any one also have any suggestions for a good "REPUTABLE" jeweler here is Seattle that will resize the ring and set the stone for me? How long should I expect for something like this to be done?

Well, when I was looking for a jeweler to set my stone locally some said that I could watch while they set it. I would look at your stone under a loop and see where the inclusions are on the stone if you are nervous about having your stone set. Sparklicious recommended a jeweler in Seattle maybe she will chime in?

eta: here is your lovely setting

Where do you live (IE which county)? I am currently in the process of having to get my ering reshanked (heh!) and the wedding band remade. I called up my apraiser and asked who they suggested. They suggested Nique Jewelers which is in bellevue (not in the mall, on bell way). My friend had her wedding band custom made there and they were SOO friendly and wonderful, they even had the band ready (but not fine polished) for her wedding day (1 week earlier than the band was to be ready). I also went to Saunderlands (in bellevue) - their prices were a little high but their jewelry was nice. However, i felt like they were pushing me around and not offering more suggestions.
Last night i checked out Warren Jewelers (Kirkland, Bellingham) and the people there were VERY nice - they offered me lots of suggestions and gave me much better pricing that saunderlands.

I''ve also hear J.Lewis is good.

I will elt you know in my search to get my ering fixed if i come across any other places. My best best though is to ask your apraiser who they suggest.

Green Lake Jewelry Works in Northgate has a similar antique style to Bev K, so I would suggest them. They''re great to work with as well!
