brilliantscope and lightscope reports- how do you get them

is every jeweler able to get brilliantscope and lightscope reports for you? if not, how would i get one for a stone i am interested in? also, how important are they for a cushion cut?

The lightscope is the GOG version of the red reflector type scope the ideal-scope is another.
I find it slightly harsher on the diamond than the IS.
It shows flaws more than the the IS does.

There are a number of vendors with b-scopes or you can send it down to rockdoc for an appraisal and he can run it for you.

They are top notch.

They only sell them through their own network of jewelers, and the jewelers mostly won''t do them on a stone that they didn''t sell. Rockdoc is the only one I know who is in the business of selling the reports and not in the business of selling diamonds.

so chances are if i saw a stone in a storefront in NYC then i wouldn''t be able to ask him to get those done?

It's unlikely. The manufacturer of the brilliancescope is www.gemex.com. They should be able to tell you who in your neighborhood has one. If the NYC jeweler will give you the stone for a few days for approval, you may be able to make an appointment to take the short drive to www.goodoldgold.com and get them to assist but you should call first to see if they will sell you a report on someone elses stone. Rockdoc takes 48 hours but you will have to ship it to Florida.

Jon/GOG has said in the past they will not run them on diamonds he isnt selling.
I think its against his contract with gemex.
