Well, today one of my bridesmaids dropped out of the wedding.
She called me sobbing and I assumed someone had died, but no. Her very best friend, who was supposed to get married in August, changed her wedding date to mine. And she was already (and for years) planning on being her MOH. She tried to pay the friend to change the date, but for whatever reason it couldn't happen. So she called just in absolute tears. Apparently a coworker -- who happens to be a not-very-nice bride -- told her I would never speak to her again, but I assured her that was NOT the case and of course I still wanted to be her friend and no she was not disinvited from the bachelorette party! I also recommended her friend choose purple as her color since there was already a bridesmaid dress in that shade. Fortunately I had her laughing by the end of the conversation.
She did say if I changed my mind and decided to get mad I could call and yell at her.
I'm really sad, but I understand and it's okay. I just wanted to vent a little. There is a silver lining however! The FI hadn't decided on a fourth groomsman, and didn't have an obvious choice, so while he's sad that I'm sad (and he really likes my friend), he's also quite happy that he doesn't have to come up with another guy.
