Okay Ladies, so I'm seeing a pattern. And I've been told it's actually a VERY common one. (Might be obvious to some, but it wasn't to me, so I'm posting about it).

I got sick the week before my wedding, and was down for two weeks AFTER my wedding (adrenaline got me through the actual day of, it was the ONLY day I felt well that month-- but that morning I was really sick until I started to get the adrenaline going). Three courses of antibiotics.

One of my cousins told me that on her wedding day she AND her groom were violently ill, that between the two of them they threw up 14 times the day of.

Oct2008 was in vicious pain and got ill.

Another of our brides passed out TWICE cause she didn't eat. And a couple of other brides I've talked to were ill as well. All my vendors mentioned that a healthy bride is a rare thing.

.... So, PSA to brides to be. It is so easy to wear your body to the bone the last couple of months. There's not enough time, you work then your weekends and evenings are spent on wedding stuff... guest come in, the excitement level goes up, obligations, last minute details, and next thing you know the day is HERE, and you feel like h*ll.

Please take care of yourselves and take time out to rest, eat right, work out, vent as you need to.

oooohhhhhhhh, NOW you say something! ::blows nose::

seriously, ladies! Gypsy, as per usual, is right! I spent two weeks honeymooning in Italy battling an oncoming cold (cold won, btw, because i''m raging sick right about now!), so take care of yourselves!

Gypsy, what a thoughtful post! Thanks for looking out for us BIW''s. You have a generous heart and we always appreciate your words of wisdom

I actually got very ill at our wedding reception. Something I''m quite embarassed about, actually. I ate in the morning as I knew I wouldn''t be eating dinner at the reception until 6:00. So it wasn''t lack of food.

After our reception dinner as we were making our way around to our guests I got INCREDIBLE sweaty and light headed. DH sat me down and my MOH (a nurse thank goodness) ran me outside where I sat with my head between my knees and threw up. It was awful and I was so embarassed.

I honestly don''t know what caused it. I''m thinking my blood sugar was low because after I downed a million cups of sprite I started to feel a bit better.

But what a way to feel on your one and only wedding day. I just thank GOD that it went away and I was able to enjoy the rest of the reception.

My oldest sister got super faint at her wedding, too. It was the not eating problem.

Sadly for my sister, my mom has learned from experience that you need to have sandwiches and snackies out during the day of the wedding for the wedding party to nibble on while they''re getting ready, taking 1000000 pictures, being clouded by a fog of hairspray, etc.

My next sister had no problem the day of her wedding due to my mom being wise, so I hope I take after her when it comes to staying on my feet!

AMEN! I was sick the week before the wedding (got better about two days before) as well as the fainting. Though I was definitely eating well and getting lots of sleep. I think that it was mostly mental stress (in my case, actually not having to do with the wedding) that brought me down.

As for the fainting, oh my goodness, it is SO easy to forget to eat. I actually did have breakfast, though a small one, around 10am, didn''t eat until 5:30 when the fainting happened because I just didn''t have an appetite. I figured I was saving room for the big dinner anyway... and I do stuff like that all the time. But it was too much on top of the cold, rain (shiver shiver!), locked knees, and nerves (which I didn''t even realize I had!).

Anyway, listen to the advice ladies--even if you think you already know (we all do), just take extra care of yourself. What usually works to keep you healthy and happy may not still be enough under the circumstances
