Hi guys

So im hopefully buying my diamond and i have found a ring on Brian Gavins website i want to have done.

As i am in Australia i want the diamond to be shipped to them then have BGD set it in the ring and post to me.

Has anyone done this before and can they give me some feedback on customer service and communications as i think i have read on google reviews that feedback was not great sometimes.

Being on the other side of workd spending alot of money and a time schedule i would like so personal reassurance from those who have dealt with them?

Thanks in advance

hogster, I purchased an awesome set of round diamond stud earrings from Brian when he was at his former company, Whiteflash. I was fortunate enough to be able to go to their office as I lived in Houston at that time. It was great to be able to visit them personally. Brian spent almost 2 hours with my wife and I, first explaining diamonds in general, then showing us the three "pair" I had selected from their in-house database. He was actually able to find a 4th pair as a compromise for what we desired after viewing the first three pair (went up in color to D, up in carat, and down in clarity to SI1...which gave new meaning to me to the term "eye clean").

In short, my experience with Brian was extremely positive.

To the point that just yesterday I finalized my order for two princess stud earrings from Brian at his new company, BGD. These are purchased sight unseen now that I no longer live in Houston, but I have utmost confidence in Brian and the folks at BGD.

I'm certain that you will be very pleased with your ring!

Hi hogster,

I'm not in Aus, but I'm in the UK and I bought my engagement ring from BGD, I can't say enough good things about the team. I dealt with Jamie and she couldn't have been more helpful, thorough and easy to speak to. She answered every question I had and made the (rather daunting buying-online-sight-unseen) task very, very easy.
Shipping was incredible fast, we got a phonecall the second the parcel landed in the UK to pay the Taxes, we paid by card over the phone and it got released straight away.

The service (and final product) was so good it has completely put my mind at rest about buying from online vendors (especially PS recommended vendors) and I wouldn't hesitate to buy from BGD again.

You know I've bought from them. 3 times in fact. All very good transactions.

I have done business with BGD many times they are first class vendor... :appl:

I have had a few experiences with Lesley and Brian over the years, deal with 100% confidence.

I've purchased rings from them 2 or 3 times now helping people (I have seen the finished product) and twice for myself. The rings are more delicate in real life than their pics show but are well made. The main hassle I have had is communication because of the time difference and if you need anything specific Leslie doesn't always answer emails, but the staff that work there are generally O.K.

Hi Hogster

Im in Australia and last year I purchase my first diamond and setting from them which I absolutely adored. A few months ago I upgraded my stone through them and also purchased a pair of studs. I have been really happy with everything from them. I mainly communicate with Lesley via Live chat is the mornings as that is there end of day and I always get the answers Im after, or if I email her directly I get a response well within 24 hours. Lesley has always been very patient, honest and extremely helpful to me. I am directing my sister there for her upgrade within the next several months and I will also do a final upgrade on my stone with them hopefully next year.

Thanks all for your replies and all the positive feedback its very much appreciated.

I have gone with BGD and in the process of having the ring made up, they are very helpful and great to deal with.

I will update all once ring arrives.

Thanks

I'm in the process of having my 2.12 cushion cut ring made at BGD. Terrific people to deal with and Lesley was very honest, informative, and opinionated. I was able to to pick out my ring on the open market then they bought it in for viewing. I was able to compare it in person to their H&A cushions and some 8 main cushions. Being able to view my stone in person and seeing it kick the taillights out of the other stones made the whole experience very assuring.

Buy with confidence & goodluck.
