Hi,

Need some PS advice again. I'm thinking about adding a bracelet / bangle to my little collection. I started off looking at bracelets but my eyes are always drawn towards the thicker bangles. I will not stack and I want this to be a forever piece so it has to be something that still look nice and appropriate when I'm 60. My options are:

1) bracelet using 0.15 ct stones, or
2) bangle with 5 rows of 0.05 melees (on top half of an oval shaped bangle)
3) bangle with 5 rows of 0.03 melees (on top half of an oval shaped bangle)

I have a picture for your reference. Would love to hear your thoughts and suggestions.

THANK YOU

Wow -- those are all really beautiful! I don't know that I can be any help, because I can make a case for each of them. I love the rose gold! I can imagine wearing any of them daily, for all occasions. *If* I had to choose, I think the line bracelet would be my top choice...a tennis bracelet is near the top of my wish list...but it's such a personal decision. I hope you'll let us know what you decide and post more photos!! :appl:

I picked #2 because I think it's beautiful
(They all are) however, I think you could probably
Wear #1 on more occasions.

Tough choice! They are all so beautiful. I don't think you can go wrong. I will say I think the RG looks beautiful with your skin!

That 15-pointer bracelet looks huge and amazing!! I would definitely go with that...but I am a little biased because I have one on the way to me from IDJ! :) I think the bracelet is classic and will also be more durable to stand the test of time. The pave is probably way more delicate.

Just saw that those stones are .24, but .15 will still be amazing!

I voted bracelet because I don't link things banging around.
I have worn the larger bracelet daily now for 10 years. It has been in the shower, camping,
in the waters of French Polynesia (Bora Bora, Tahiti, etc.)

The smaller bracelet in this photo holds .16s which is really close to the .15s you are considering. (6.5 TW for 7")
The larger bracelet from Wink holds .33s (10.5 TW but 11.5 TW if standard 7")

I would pick the bracelet. I think it would be easier to wear. Bangles can be difficult at times, especially if you work on a computer or do anything where your wrist is against a flat surface. I work at a computer alot of the time and I never wear any of my bangles but I do wear my tennis bracelets.

haha, I know! Wish I could afford the 0.24, in fact why not 0.3 since it's a wish anyway.

Thank you all for your votes and comments.

I love love love how the bracelet looked on me. It's so sparkly and blinding in real life. My budget would allow for 0.15 but I just cannot unsee the 0.24. I also have a feeling that I would want a bigger one few years down the road so perhaps I should just stay away to avoid DSS.

Ally66 - if tennis bracelet is near top of your list, wonder what is/are at top right now :)

EHR2009 - please post handshots as soon as you received yours!

tyty333 and Valmanin - I am leaning towards a mixture of the two bangles - a rose gold of 0.05 melees. I too think RG compliments my skin. I am checking price before making final decision. Hopefully with RG I can go down a bit on color, perhaps H/I instead of G/H I originally planned to keep cost down. If over my budget I'd just stick with smaller melees.

cflutist and Lookinagain - you are absolutely right about bangles being hard to wear, banging on stuff. In fact the bangles I tried on were NOT comfortable at all. They were too large, also feels awkward, just don't fit my shape. I am requesting for it to be made according to my shape. I don't know if they could do it. I would use play dough to make them a mold of my hand as last resort.

They are all gorgeous. I am going to go against the grain here and say while I love the RG bangle against your skin I prefer the WG bangle and bracelet because it makes the whole bracelet pop against your skin. The RG is lovely but a way more subtle look and if that is what you are going for (and I have jewelry I chose for it subtlety believe it or not so I get that) then the RG is the one. But if you want pop factor I think the WG looks are the way to go for your skin tone at least based on these pics.

Bangle is a more casual look IMO and the bracelet more dressy though probably more versatile and easy to wear. If this were for me I would choose the WG tennis bracelet. Always a classic and always beautiful. My second choice would be the RG bangle because it is lovely and you don't need a big pop with that size bangle and last choice WG bangle. That really makes a statement. All great choices so a tough decision but you cannot go wrong with either of these 3 wonderful choices.

+1 and bracelet seems easier to maintain. With so many melee in the bangle, there's a higher possibility of stones falling out.

Do you live in the US? I think the think the tennis bracelet style is more the norm here, while the bangle style might be more the norm in Asian countries - which could affect how comfortable you feel wearing each. Also, would the bangles be hinged, and would they be round or oval in shape? For me personally, an oval bangle style is wear-able, while a round bangle style gets starts to get in my way pretty quickly (and I might add that I used to wear bracelets almost daily). Re hinged vs. not - I have gold bangles my grandmother gave me when I was in college that went unworn for many years because they were loose enough that I was afraid they might slip off accidentally. Now, as I'm approaching my 60's, it's kind of difficult to get them on and off my wrist - so, if you're looking for a forever bracelet, hinges might be the way to go.

missy, you very much summarized the things that went through my mind. I too think the WG bracelet pops the most - would make a HUGE statement indeed. And yes, I actually wanted a more subtle piece for I dress casually and people around me are not into jewelry at all. So I want something that pleases me without drawing too much attention. Love PS, we speak same bling

excellent point! The supplier has agreed to repair at no extra charge. I assume he means no labour charge but i'd still pay for the stones which I think is pretty fair.

I live in HK. Bracelets with a few smaller stones as part of the design is common but not tennis bracelets. Bangles with so much melees also not common. Though I have decided to go with a bangle, must say that to me, 40+ diamonds neatly lined up does give a very classy elegant feel. I actually worried that a bangle covered with melees may scream fake or trying too hard. BUT when I tried them on, I feel that the bracelet looks too young on me. And the bangle when in RG actually feels 'right' if you know what i mean. The bangle is going to be roundish oval with a hinge and a safety clasp - turned out my wrist is actually roundish :rodent:
