Hi All,

I''m trying to create a bracelet using a single solitaire diamond (1/3 ct) and need your advice.

What kind of chain would be a little more durable but keep the delicate-ness of the look? Also, I''m worried that I will bang the diamond as I''m sitting at the dinner table, desk, etc.

I know nothing about chains, although I''d like it to be flexible and not get badly kinked.

Are you planning on having the culet exposed in the back, as is the design of the Tiffany in the picture you have does, or will the bezel extend back to protect the culet? I have the TBTY necklace and the culet is exposed and I would *never* have that sort of style in a bracelet because I am clumsy and would worry the diamond could chip.

I''m pretty sure Butterfly_17 has a similar bracelet (diamond and/or sapphire), but with five (or so) gemstones around it. Possibly Page her in the "hangout" area and maybe she''ll see the post and provide input.

That''s a good question. We are definitely doing a bezel, but I''m not sure about the culet. My mom had a DBTY necklace, so I know what you''re talking about that open culet. We''re going to try to make it a tight fit so that it sits on the top of my wrist.

I''m gonna do a search for Butterfly''s bracelet...

So I asked Lesley about the open culet and she suggested this as a possibility. What do you think?

It's very protective looking with no open culet:

What are your opinions? Basically it's going to be a bezel solitaire bracelet. Lesley originally suggested going with a custom bezel head. This option would be less metal-y and probably more delicate than the Stuller setting above.

A custom bezel head would be my preference. The stuller has that micky mouse ear effect and won't lay properly for a bracelet. I'd have the loops go on either side, one west, one east For a chain? A nice cable link chain, or rolo chain would be nice... Just my O.2. Fun project... The snugger it fits the more it will sit on top, if the bezel is heavier it shouldn't flip. I can't wait to see what you all come up with. I am a stickler for this stuff. Type A and all. I know they will make a gorgeous bracelet for you Jelly!!!

Thanks Kaleigh! As you know, I''m a huge fan of your jewelry!

Here''s a better choice with the ears the correct way. Lesley said they would do it custom anyway...we''re just using the Stuller as an example. (Just got the email from her about that!)

Originally we were talking about going with a soft bracelet, but Brian (and I for that matter) are worried about it staying at the top of my wrist.

hmm...what to do?

Still a bit concerned about the diamond staying on top of my wrist with this soft chain. Does anyone have any solutions besides just wearing it tight? What would you do?
