I recently visited a high end jewelry shop and they had some AMAZING diamond studs that they called "Bouquet Diamond Studs". For example, there was a pair that I could swear were 1 ctw studs, but they were actually 1/4 carat stones surrounded by much smaller, matching diamonds. They were so well done that unless you were looking at them from 3-4 inches away, you COULD NOT tell. In fact, at one point, I was looking VERY CLOSELY at a pair that I thought were probably 1 ctw studs. Since I really wanted a pair of round brilliant studs I asked to look at them. The guy smiled and said, "actually those are bouquet studs too". I couldn't believe it! The salesman said they're becoming very popular, because they're getting SOOO good at making them look like single stone studs. Anyone else heard of these? What's the consensus. BTW, the inner stones are all GIA certified, then they find MUCH smaller stones that match the larger stone. I know it doesn't sound possible that they could be so difficult to mistake for single stones, but they were!!!!! :o

A nice alternative to single stud earrings.

I saw some like that at Costco today and they were stunning!

I've owned a pair of diamond studs that were like that but they still didn't feel like a big diamond to me. They sparkled, no one could tell it wasn't one big diamond...but I could. I sold them and slowly upgraded to nice studs and haven't regretted it one bit. I thought I'd prefer size to classic but turns out I was wrong, again.

I actually like those a million times more than my traditional studs!!! Darn. I really can't justify more diamond earrings ...

I am unlikely to be able to afford 2 x 3ct MRBs for earrings, however, BGD's Coronet line that gives me the same diameter as a 3ct MRB is definitely within my reach.

DK :))
