So... I just wanted to thank everyone who commented on my previous posts as well as everyone who has written about cushion cuts. Over the past few months I have been researching, reading, and searching out the perfect diamond for my perfect lady. I have finally found it. The moral of the story is:

1. Do your research, there are TONS of posts. This is my favorite: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/cushion-question-for-cehrabehra-and-others.58597/ the diagram of the various cushions was very helpful. Thank you Boston_Jeff and Cehrabehra for the help on this.

2. You have to see it in person and under various lights to truly appreciate it. I was trying to do the majority of my research online before I took a trip to my diamond connection. The research made me a very educated buyer, but it wasn''t until I saw the cushion diamonds that I could really make the decision.

So here is what I finally got:

Cushion Brilliant
1.61c
F - VS1

The cushion you have looks amazing. It''s very close to one that I''ve recently purchased. Likewise, I love the setting you put it in. What are the details on that setting? Also, what is the ratio of your cushion? I went for a more rectangular one.

Beautiful ring!

Wow, looks amazing, thanks for posting the image.

Enjoy it!

The ring is 18k with 0.6c of D/E-VS stones going half way around. I wanted to go the entire way around, but spent the extra on the diamond.

The diamond specs are:

7.11x6.97x4.56 (So its 1.02 ratio and almost square)
Table: 56
Depth: 65

I absolutely love it, now just have to wait until its on her finger for the full effect.

Also, has anyone noticed that it is sometimes VERY difficult to photograph a diamond. I''ve been trying for the past few days to take a good picture with my digital...and it won''t focus to save my life.

It''s a gorgeous ring and I am sure it will even look better on your finger.

I also had some issues photographing diamonds but what I found helpful was the "macro" zoom option in the digital cameras without the flash. It''s gives even better results if you can hold the camera steady in a brightly lit area of your home or office and use a little sticky stuff on the bottom of the shank to keep it standing on a flat white background rather in a black jewelry box.
