Bought ring setting that fits a .33 ct diamond

Hey everyone,

So I bought an engagement ring setting that fits a .33 ct diamond. My mother recently gave me the diamond from her engagement ring that is .41 ct. I am wondering if the ring will probably be able to fit the diamond?

Also, if it does not, how much will it cost to fix the ring setting to fit the diamond?

Any advice is greatly appreciated!
