Just an update from a year or two ago. I started 31 Botox shots for severe migraines a year and a half ago. I just got my 5th set. I was getting 3-4 migraines a week, sometimes going to ER. Now I get a mild headache occasionally and I havnt had a severe in over 6 mo. Insurance cover all but $40 copay. I highly recommend!

That's amazing! One of my cousins does this as well, she's had similar results.

I had Botox done several times for migraines. I was having 15 migraines a month, at least. I quit doing Botox about a year ago, and i swear, I’m cured. I have one migraine right around the time of my period and that is it. My forehead stayed pretty smooth too!

I do Botox for migraine as well. While the shots don't help the migraines in my brain, they have significantly lessened the sensitivity of the muscles at the back of my head and my neck. Before, I could not stay in bed once I work up or I'd get a migraine. Now, I can stay in bed and watch TV. FWIW, I usually wake up with my migraines, and have many food triggers, as well as hormonal triggers and stress triggers.

I already had a smooth forehead (I'm 52), no 11s between my eyebrows nor lines across my forehead.

Thank you @AprilBaby for this information. I have been really having a tough time lately with increasing migraines with aura. Started around when I was 50 and have been increasing in my 60s, so much lately that I have 3 a week with auras and migraine afterwards. I have seen several neurologists, had a normal MRI, and tried some medications but had side effects. Right now I am self medicating with vitamins... B2, B complex, CoQ10, magnesium daily. I have an appointment with another specialist at the end of April (my 4th in 10 years) and I hope that I can get some relief. I will ask about Botox.

I did the B2, coq10 and magnesium for the first 9 mo and it helped but the Botox was the icing on the cake. I was late by 2 months for my current Botox because life got in the way but I still had no headaches. Possibly they are cured but as long as insurance pays I’m going to keep it up. Cosmetically I see no advantage in the shots.

I am so glad that so many have found relief! Botox didn't help my migraine, sadly, but it's such a big disorder. I am doing better with an infusion every 3 months - it works for 2 for most people, but insurance will not pay for extra treatments. I will take 2 out of 3 better months for now, and hope that insurance will change its mind eventually.

Monthly injections of Aimovig have been my lifesaver. I've gone from over 20 migraines per month to around four hormone-induced migraines per month. Botox really helps the sensitivity I have in my shoulders, neck and back of head.
