BOOTS help me decide

I first saw these brick red boots and fell in love!

I''ve been really wanting some boots other than my black leather ones. I normally wear black; then come the deep, rich colors... reds, teals, blues, etc. I wear some brown if it''s a chocolate (I''m pale and light browns just wash me out, though I can wear creams and off-whites).

Sooo... I figured I could wear these red boots with jeans and skirts... with black or brown.
They have a 15" shaft and 2 1/2" heel. I love the buckles!

Choice #1: Carmen in brick red.

Choice #2: Veronica Slouch in Sand.
Would this be more practical? More versatile? I could wear reds and teals with them... I like the color but don''t like that it appears to be suede. These are shorter (13 1/2" shaft) with a shorter heel (1 1/4")

Choice #3: Veronica Slouch in brown.
These are leather rather than suede, which I prefer, but I like the sand color better than the brown.

Should I go with the ones I really like (red) or go with something I might get more use out of... or maybe I wouldn''t get that much more use out of the brown?

FYI: the red ones are $30 more, but it's not a deciding factor.
I do have chocolate brown suede lace up boots, beige suede wintery boots and beige Uggs. So, maybe too much brown? Go for the red? Or go with the sand because they are more versatile (but the red would look great with jeans).

I love the first pair!! I wear a 2-2.5" heel everyday throughout fall and winter ( I gotta wear boots cause it''s chilly!!) They are quite comfortable, and make your butt look great!

I have deep redish/burgandy shoes that I wear with black, brown, grey, white, off white, blue, purple, and pink shades. If you keep your bag a simple black or brown, I think you can go with a color in your shoe. I think the only color I don''t wear with mine is green (Too Christmasy).

I love the red ones...I have a pair of red heels sort of a similar shade and I (like somethingshiny) wear them with tons of different colored outfits! Blacks, browns, grays, etc., they''re a great color and more versatile than you think!

Yay... maybe I will just go with what I originally wanted lol. I do like mixing red with colors other than neutrals... red really is versatile and one of my favorite colors... I was just second guessing myself. The boots are not cheap (to me, though maybe to others here they are), so I didn''t want to get a pair only to realize I should have gone with the other (because I wouldn''t be able to get another pair). Thanks for the help

I meant to say this a while ago, but...SWEET FANCY MOSES. I love Frye and the red Carmen 14" are beyond stunning.

You must get them. I could never afford them (yes they ARE expensive!) and I wish to live vicariously through you. Do it. Do it now.

LOL... I know they are expensive, so my grandma and I are splitting the cost. I was going to order them for my bday but I went with a charcoal coat I need (I don''t need the boots) and the coat would most likely sell out by December- the boots will be around. So, I got the coat (which is not even half the price) as a gift now and will get the boots next month for Christmas.

I have Frye sandals and shoes and they are so comfortable and well made... they will really last a very, very long time. They are definitely worth the money. I would rather buy something I like once rather than having to replace a cheap version often and end up spending more. Besides, with my bad ankles and knees... I need comfortable shoes.

I received the boots from Zappos today. I had to try them on even though I can't have them until Christmas. They are SUPER comfy as I expected... the leather is soft and they feel good on. They are a perfect subdued red (though I love all reds); they look a bit brighter in the pic. Good thing I ordered them because there were only 2 left in my size... now there's only one!

I love the details which aren't too OTT, so because they last forever I can wear them forever.

I really recommend these... really any of the Frye boots/shoes.

I''ve worn a pair of Frye''s basic engineer boots every day for the last 7 years, and they are the best boots I''ve ever owned. *sigh* I would luuuuurve a pair of these. Let me know if you actually buy some, Lor, and I will commence drooling. Again.
