Five year olds should ALWAYS have a booster seat or something to lift them higher! There have been a few occasions when we didn''t have a booster (like when I drove off to the mall and forgot to take the seats out for my DH) and we have put blankets or towels down to lift the kids up. This works well as long as you have enough towels! It''s important for their safety.
I wonder if cabs ever carry boosters? When we rented a car recently, they let us also rent boosters so we didn''t have to carry ours on the plane, so possibly cabbies have one availiable.
Thanks MC -- we are totally safety conscious -- but I really don''t think cabbies keep boosters -- but I could be wrong..
Guess I will have to buy one of those backless ones and carry it around Chicago with me.... we have huge Recaro booster and I don''t think I can lug that around the city!
Ugh, that sounds like a pain. Seriously, it would be easier to pack a few towels in a back pack and use them in place! The goal is to have your child up high, and the means isn''t as important as the results.
