I want to get a booster for Miller in the fun car. I have a Britax Roundabout car seat, and love it, so my first reaction is to get a Britax booster. Any experience with this seat? Recommendations generally?

Miller is tall (37 inches at 24 months), so that is a factor to consider.

I know all the reports. The plan is to just use the booster now in the car, which is a coupe, so it will be impossible to cram the big seat into it. We will need it eventually, so no harm in buying now.

What seat do you have?

Well, as pp stated he should stay in his convertible seat until he outgrows it. Most important thing with booster seats is to make sure it is 5pt harness. Britax, Sunshine Kids, Safeguard and Recaro have great boosters.

Is the booster for the G35 coupe? My husband drives a g35 coupe as well. I had to put a Cosco Scenera Convertible Seat in it since it was small enough to fit. My guess is we will probably need to look into Recaro for a booster, though.

If you use the type of booster seat that has a back on it, you can start at 30 pounds.

DH and I use the Fisher Price Safe Voyage booster seats (they''re made by Britax, but carry the FP name). We have 5 of them and they''re extremely easy to shuffle between our SUVs and third car. Besides the fact that they''re made by Britax, the other thing I love about these seats is that the base is narrow (but can also be adjusted wider), so it''s easy to get 3 across in the back seat (for carrying little friends).

Hi Litigator Chick -

I hear you about the big clunky seats. There are laws in place in my area (Canada) governing heights, weights etc... My youngest just turned 4 and still has not reached the 40 lb weight limit required before I can move him to a booster. grrr.

You should check your local laws. I know police in my area can ticket drivers for driving with children who are not in the appropriate car seat.

A bit of a pain, but in the end, safety first -

Hey, I''m a fellow Canuck. Canadian Legislation is quite variable, and many provinces do not make any distinction between boosters and car seats. In Alberta, it is simply required to have the child secured in a "car seat" until age 6 and 40 lbs. I would say that a booster complies.

Anyhoo, just looking for recommendations on boosters for tall kids in small cars (yes, its the G35 coupe).

Quebec, where I live, and Ontario have regulations for older children as well. The legislation sets out minimum seated height, ages, etc. So when the time comes, I will be looking for a seat that can grow with my son.

Good Luck with your search and enjoy the summer weather in the Coupe!

We have a Recaro -- but our child was 3-1/2 or 4 when we started using it... here''s a great site with lots of reviews..

Good luck

I don''t have much booster seat advice as we have not ventured down that road yet. DD is 5 1/2 and weighs what your little guy does! She''s in a Britax Marathon which goes up to 65 lbs. Keep in mind that car seat belts are NOT safe for his weight and especially height. There are booster seats that have a 5 pt. harness in the seat. Look for one of those. I know you are in Canada, but, here''s a resource I''ve always used http://nhtsa.gov/ And keep in mind that just because the law allows something, that doesn''t mean it''s the safest for your sweetie. OK, Mother Miranda is done lecturing now!

What do you use in the G35 Miranda?

The Marathon. I saw that you have the coupe, though. I have the sedan. That probably makes a difference.

My friend gets her Roundabout in the back of her Porsche 911. You should be able to get it in the back of the G. Are you just shopping for a second car seat? I''ll poke around and see what I find for a kiddo his weight and more importantly height. I think too often people dismiss the height requirements for car seats and worry more about age and weight. Argh, here I go again. My sister calls me "Car seat police".

Holy cow, that''s a big seat in a small car!!! I can barely fit my handbag in the back if the G!!!!

Looking into the Britax this weekend - other ideas??
