I was wondering if any of you PSers had any book recommendations for good designs. I''m particularly interested in historical books or antique designs, but anything with lots of pictures would be great.
thanks in advance!
I don''t know about any books, but I''ve got two suggestions:
1) The internet. Have a look at antique/historical/jewellery sites. Try a google image search to get some ideas and to find some sites.
2) A trip to the museum is often a great way of getting inspiration. Especially the larger ones with strong collections from around the world, but often smaller local museums have hidden treasures.
There are sooo many great books on jewelry.Diamonds by Eric Bruton is a great for beginning gemologists and the history of the diamond trade. The book"my love affair with jewelry" by elizabeth taylor is a favorite of mine. The local library and university has been a great resourse for books.I enjoy books of famous gems like the Hope Diamond. The book "the hope diamond" by richard kurin is a grear read. The book"the queens jewels (authors last name is Field)is really good. Also Auction websites like Southbys and christies give valuable photo research.
